    Smile Associated Content Submission Guidelines!

Hi everyone! The other day, Admin. was kind enough to tell us about Associated Content. I just finished reading their submission guidelines, and took some notes. They're not difficult to follow, just need to make sure to remember them whenever submitting there. Here's the list of notes I took:

    1. Make sure the content is original. Meaning: Make sure you have the copyright to it, or... that the byline matches either your name or your penname on the AC account.

    2. Make the content at least 400 words in length.

    3. Correct grammar, sentence structure, spelling, punctuation, and formatting (I'll post on formatting below)

    4. Use a strong headline for submissions. This is kinda like SEO. What would a reader search for to find this?

    5. Don't promote yourself too much! No "about the author".

    6. Keep the content clean, meaning, no pornography, bad/agressive/disrespectful language, etc.

    7. Don't link to sites related to anything where you get paid for reviewing ads, or links, or reading emails, etc.

    8. Don't link or promote online gambling sites.

    9. Link to your other content! Link to an external site, but only if it's relevant to the content!

    10. No links promoting sales of student papers, research, essays, etc.

    11. Affiliate links are not allowed.

    12. Cite all your sources (link to journal where you read XYZ info, etc.)

    13. Include a list of your sources at the end. This is the format to follow:
    Author/Artist:
Page Title: (hyperlinked to exact web address)
    Site Titile:

Now for the formatting: 1) single spaces between paragraphs 2) no indents 3) no bullet points 4) line breaks only at the end of paragraphs 5) all the text has to be left justified 6) font 9-point Arial or use Notepad or Bbedit for word processor 7) limit the bold, italic, and underlined words 8) please... no all capital letters! 9) no line breaks in the interesting/fun facts field 10) remove the byline 11) place the title in the headline field only.

I don't think these are too difficult to follow, just small little things here and there to remember. If by any chance anyone has any questions, let me know and I'll try to help. I'm going to write and submit my first article now, so once I get a response, I'll say what they said, and if this should be followed.

    Thanks a bunch!

I am not too sure about the point no-1 You have listed there..

The reason being if I were to buy content for a website I would not only look into the copyright side but also make sure that the content I am going to buy is not already indexed on google or other major search engines as it defeats the sole purpose of buying content and I am sure this associated content is no exception to this...
You may have copyrights to xyz content but if youve already posted it somewhere on the net I dont think any webmaster or company would pay to get their hands on that content as that would mean that which ever page they post it on will get duplicate content penelties from search engines and those pages would never rank well on search engines (there are a few exceptions)

I am not saying this is 100% the case with associated content... I just shared what my take was on buying or selling content.

    Smile Thank you...

Thank you Admin. I am not a webmaster, but I certainly understand your point, and you are definitely right. This is what their submissions guidelines said. I agree with what you mention, and don't know what, or if, they have other more detailed guidelines they follow - maybe while they're reviewing the content, etc. Like I mentioned, I am writing my first article now, and once I receive a reply, I guess I'll learn from that as well. Thank you for your input! It's very helpful!

ok here is what I get from associatedcontent.com faq page.

    Earning Money
How and when do I get paid?
At this time, we pay exclusively via PayPal. All you need to receive payments from us is a basic, personal PayPal account, which is free. To sign up, visit paypal.com. Within three business days of accepting an offer, we will send you an email asking you to confirm your PayPal email address. Upon confirmation, we will send payment via PayPal within three business days. You can set your Associated Content account to automatically confirm your PayPal email address after each offer is accepted by clicking on "Turn Auto-Confirm Payments ON" from the payment page on the My Content sub-tab (accessible from the My Account tab). You can always manually confirm your PayPal email address - even before receiving our confirmation email - by clicking on "Confirm All Payments."

    When are payments sent?
Typically, payments are sent every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (except for holidays). If a payment is not sent on one of these days, be assured it will be sent by the following designated day. Performance Payments are sent at the beginning of each month, no later than the second Wednesday, if you have at least $1.50 in your Performance Payment balance.

How much money can I make?
The amount of money you make at Associated Content is unlimited. All of the content you publish can earn you money via Performance Payments, which currently pays you a baseline PPM™ rate of $1.50 for every thousand page views your content receives. As you generate more page views and submit more content, your clout level rises - and your Performance Payments do too! (Learn more on the Performance Payments page.) Some Content Producers earn hundreds of dollars per month in Performance Payments alone. In addition, sometimes we might make an Upfront Payment offer for your text content (offers range from $3 - 20).

    What are Performance Payments?
Performance Payments allow you to earn unlimited cash from your text, video, slideshow and audio submissions long after they have been published. You earn money for every thousand page views your content generates (PPM™ rate). The baseline PPM™ rate is currently $1.50 - meaning if you generate 30,000 page views, you're paid $45.00 in Performance Payments. The more content you submit and more page views it generates, the higher your PPM™ rate gets. Learn more here. Visit the My Account tab to see your current estimated earnings and track your page view statistics per piece of content from the My Content sub-tab (accessible from the My Account tab).
    What is an Upfront Payment?
An Upfront Payment is an advance payment for your content offered before your content is published. It is a bonus in addition to the money you can earn via Performance Payments.

Why can't I submit content for Upfront Payment Review?
You may be unable to submit content for Upfront Payment for one of the following reasons:

    1. You are under 18 years old.
    2. You are not a citizen or legal resident of the United States.
    3. You selected a submission template for a type of content for which we do not offer Upfront Payment (video, audio, slideshow or short story/prose).

How do I withdraw money from my PayPal account?
You can withdraw funds from your PayPal account via electronic transfer to your bank account or by requesting a check from PayPal. For more information visit paypal.com.

ok, so I guess posting content is not enough. you also have to gather 2000 - 3000 visitor every day. Now it looks difficult . :stuart: any idea how do we gather this huge amount of visitor?

    Arrow hm...

Hi... I just posted my first article, but no response from them yet. As far as content and payments, I think they pay you regardless of your visitor number. Little by little, if we advertise our content, people will begin to read it. I think even if you just began, and have... 1, 2, 3, 4, visitors on your page, though, they pay you regardless.

I'm confused. What do you mean by that? I'm not advertising blog pages. At least not trying to. Those are 2 links to where I administer the pages & content. Is that what you mean? I'm sorry... I'm completely confused.

    Thumbs up Yes...

Hi... Yes they are ads via Google. It's their Vertical Wide Skyscraper format. I thought you were asking because It's against their policy. It's not, actually. Adsense allows you 3 text/image units and 3 link units on any page.

hushhhh!!! My article has been published on Associated Content ! They took a week to approve its publication.

    @kinkPOP:
First of all, Thanks for all those useful guidelines. :14:

Can you tell me the exact meaning of word "view" ?

Do they update "view count" immediately after being viewed by anyone?

If a person, who is not a member of Associated Content, views my article, then, 'Does that count get included in "view count" (or Total views) ?'

    Lightbulb Congrats!

Hi there... Honestly I do not know if you have to be a member, have an account on AC. Considering that usually the people with accounts are the writers, I am thinking that as long as their system detects a new IP address that is considered a view. I'd have to ask them. Also, I hope to see whether my content was approved or not. Do they send you a status? Should I check on the site myself, to save time, etc.? Thanks! I'll see what I find re: the views and such.

    @kinkPOP:
Do they send you status ?
Yup, they sent me an e-mail notification with subject line : "Your Publication Approved". And not to mention, your account is also get updated with article status as 'Published' under "My Contents" tab.

My view count is still zero. I went to cyber cafe and checked my article -- keeping in mind that they may be tracking IP addresses. Yet, no change in view count.
I'm also thinking about posting my article link on PTC sites so as to increase the view count. But, firstly I want to get confirmed how their view count system actually works.

And, do keep me updating with whatever information you come across regarding Associated Content.

    Best Luck!!

    Smile Status...

Hi there! Nothing yet. Just checked my email... again, and nothing. I'm going to check the AC website now, because I also have another article to produce for them, which I claimed. You know, what Admin. mentioned the other day is the truth. One of the best things to do is to get a blog. Now, if you get a blog, it has to be updated regularly. On Blogger, there is the option to enable Hindi text, therefore you don't even have to write all of your posts in English... or if not, you can write them in both languages. Hindi format, and English format. You have the option to enable it, and then once writing, you have the option of choosing the language you want to use. Then submitting these blog to get registered on blog lists is very important. I am doing that today. Also, on the blogs... add a Feedburner link! That's another thing I'm doing today too! You know... I'm going to write a thread on this blog help/tips. I think this is the easiest, least expensive, and fastest way to get traffic. Traffic is the basis of the internet, I think.

Guys, this site is gr8, but it will be hard for you to make money. You will NOT GET DIRECT PAYMENTS as that is only for US citizens. You will get only some 1$ for every 1000 views or something. That good long term(say 3 years), but not for the quick buck.

I m registered with hubpages. Its easy to use. You can make money there too. thats Mainly through adsense. I have yet to get my confirmation from them(google). But its good to do it for fun. Its easy and kinda fun to see how much u can make. I have got 80 views in 5hrs. Pretty good for a noob huh ?

If u want to earn by writing articles & Forums Posting visit contentcurrent.com.
Just have to pass their initial test (wont be problem if u write). Then just select those jobs for article writing with topic given. submit it & get paid. I'm telling you this because I personally have been searching for online part time jobs & have only come across bogus programs or those charging you for job. I mean, if I had money, I wouldn't search for online jobs.

    Default contentcurrent dot com

    Hello Nicspy

I have gone through the site contentcurrent. They demand from their clients up to $14 per article of 250 words. How much of this is paid to the writer?

Due to Reserve Bank of India regulations, for Indian residents Paypal has been hit to the extent that only cheque transfers to banks in India are allowed. One cannot retain any funds in PayPal for more than 7 days nor can one use the funds for any purchase or making payments. Therefore, effecting transfers every 7th day of receipt of funds in account can be very expensive on account of Paypal fees and currency conversion charges. PayPal, PayAlert, etc. are not treated as banks in India as per Banking Regulations.

Would you know of similar good sites that pay via bank-to-bank wire transfer?
