Thread: How to make money online with adsense

I must say that we have a lot of members here who have shown interest in making money online but I get so disappointed when I see members talking about stuff like PTC and all that crap... That is not how you can make money.

I would like to pull you all into the WWW this time and get you to start something which would change the way you think about making money on the internet.


First of all there are no gurantees as you may all undertand that a donky cannot win a race where all other competetors are horses... I cant say it any louder then this and this is my clear message to all those who think there is a way to make a quick buck on the internet and get rich over night... well there is not full stop so get your act together and read on


I have in the past read a lot of posts saying making money with adsense is not possible and no one gets paid by adsense... This is not true. I will today show you all how you can crate a successfull website and make a lot of money from advertising using adsense and other ads.

For those who say adsense doesnt pay>> You need traffic for making money through adsense.. (I will use the word "adsense" a lot please read advertising) A website has a lot of similarities with say for example an FM radis station or a TV channel.. Can you imagine how much advertisers pay those channels which are very popular... have you thought why those channels which are not viewed by a lot of people will show your adverts for a lot less money... Same way those fm radis stations which are more popular will sell their time for ads at a much higher rate then those which are very new or dont have many listeners... Its exactly the same for adsense as well... more visitors to your site more clicks on your ads and more money for you and yes its as simple as that.

A word of caution : Adsense is not stupid they are very very clever people who manage adsense and they know how people try to trick and stuff... and for those people here who think they will click their own ads and make money>>> just forget it. Adsense is far clever then an average human being can ever imagine.
So do not think about shortcuts coz there are no shortcuts. You play a trick you get banned... thats the way it works.

If you think you can leave your jugad mentality behind then read on....


For money from adsense you need traffic and for traffic you need content and a website where you can place that content. Lets not get into complication about how to get traffic after creating a ste just yet as I will talk about it later in this article...

There are two ways you can start>>

1) Get a Blog spot blog
2) Get you own domain and web hosting and create your own site.

For both the ways I would suggest all beginers to create a blog and not get into other complications for starters... As you get some experience you can then move on to the next step ( Yes you can start a big project if youve got money to risk but this thread is only targetted to those who are new to all this)

All the stuff I am going to talk about below can be classed as search engine optimisation (some may not agree with me but I call it that)


Before you choose a domain name or a blog spot blog there are a few things you should be looking at while choosing the name:

1) is the word .. or words you have choosen widely searched for? Are people looking for what that word is associated with?

I will give you a few examples and this should give you a brief idea.

This is where you can check search volumes on google : Google Trends

Examples of widely searched words:
Bollywood movies
Hindi movies
Hindi songs
English songs
movie reviews
laptop reviews

All the above words are very widely searched and if your blog starts ranking in top 5 for any of these keywords for example your site would get loads of visitors from google and that would mean a lot of clicks on your ads aswell in plain words.
so for example if you are going to a blog spot blog you could get :
bollywoodmovies.blogspot.com or bollywood-movies.blogspot.com
or for eg hindimovies.blogspot.com or hindi-movies.blogspot and so on.

The above was just for giving you an example and all the above terms may or may not be available to register either as a domain or on blogspot so you would have to do a little keyword research before you get one... and trust me there is one waiting for every one... You will find loads of them with a lot of searches and still be available at blogspot or even as a domain .

For those who want to book a domain for their fist blog:

You can get a .com if your topic is something people would be interested all over the world as .com's tend to rank well all over the word and as we have majority of Indians here there will be lot of you would would want to start a blog targetting purely India interest and they can get a .co.in or a .in domain as they will rank better on google.co.in and will get you more traffic from India.

A word of caution : If you dont know what you are doing... ASK.

Find a domain or blog spot blog name which is widely searched on google using trends and get the blog registered.

I will go with blogspot from here onwards and we will discuss about buying own domain hosting and setting up a blog on it latter in another thread which I will start in a day or two ( Please accept my appologies for not covering that bit in this one as there is only so much I can type in a day).


So now you have a blog spot blog : xyz.blogspot.com and you know that the qord xyz is widely searhed on search engines and is of interest to a lot of people who browse the internet.

This is where the hard work starts...

How would you get top rankings for the word xyz now that you have it in the url as a sub domain on blogspot?

Firstly the reason we have it in our url is that google and other search engines tend to rank a page or site better for words they have in the url and having your keyword as your domain or sub domain is an edge over competetion even before you start the race

Now that you know why we did that keyword research before... lets move on to the nexy step...

You need content now.. Its best to keep your blog updated and one or two posts a day will keep google bots happy who will come crawling to your site in search for new content and the more frequently you post new content the more google bots will come.

When you post an article its always good to spend 2 mins thinking what should be the title ... it should describe the content of your blog post and should also have a fw keywords you think will bring you some traffic in future after the page starts ranking well on search engine.

Post more and more google content on your blog and make it more interesting for visitors who will then ome back for new content later if they like what they read on your blog this will increase your readership slowley in the long term.

After you have posted 30-40 articles on your blog and it been a few days you can then apply for adsense and put google ads on your blog ( I will show you latter on how to do this as this is not something you need to worry about just now)


Now that you have a blog and you have content on it and are posting new content every day or may be every other day or say twice a week if you dont get enough time to write ... you need to work on getting traffic to your content.. yes this is not easy but with the right approach you will be surprised it was a peice of cake.

There are a lot of things which google ( read search engines) sees to rank your pages on search engine for a particular search.
One of them which yo cannot ignore is the quality of incomming links to your pages.. How would you get links?

Here is how you can start building some links in the begining :

The easiest thing and the quickes thing would be to submit to directories Yeh there are free directories so dont touch your wallet yet..

Here you can find about 1500 free directories you can submit to:
Free Directory List - Directory Critic

There are thousands of free directories you can submit to but I would suggest you submit to 10-15 directories on a daily basis and keep it regular.

The things you should take care of while submitting :

Site title should be the site name for example our sites title will be India broadband forum if we were to submit this site to a free directory.

Write a good description of your site and do not use the same description on all the directories... Use one description for about 15-20 directories. I suggest you write one new description every day and submit to 15-20 free directories using that description on tha day and then next day write a new one and use it for another 15-20 directories (This is to get maximum benefit from these free directories)

Make sure you submit to the right catagory and not stuff your descriptions or titles with keywords as the directory owners will reject your submissions in the case.
Not all directories will list your site .. A 20% success rate would be a respectable one for free directories as some of them are sort of abundened by their owners and they dont regularly approve links.

You can also write articles with a link to your site and submit to article directories... Google to get a list of article directories ( There are plenty).

If you write some very special article you can submit it to places like digg.com and stumbleupon to get instant attention and if people like it they will digg your submissions and it would start a chain reaction and get you loads of recognition and traffic in the process.


This is something very basic and all that I have written above was to get you started with a new site so you dont make many mistakes in the very bigining... I see many people starting a blog in their own name for example xyzsharma.com or abckumar.com ... its good for a personal blog but this is not something people search for... get a name which people search for and wiht that you have won half the battle.

Dear Admin firstly let me congratulate on the effort you have taken up, also its a great gesture from your side to let people know about the informative article you have posted. Its better to get informed about the genuine ways to earn from the internet rather falling prey to the fraudulent persons who are plentiful nowadays. Adsense does pay and I have seen friends earn from it, the technique they use may differ but no one can call it a scam.
I am personally involved in content writing and have been working for an organization since the last 3 years or more and in the meantime I have come across tons of such money making opportunities. Adsense is different and does pay too. I would love to know if there are ways with the help of which we can earn with our contents evaluated on merit and not on the number of persons who view the pages. Please let me know if there are any such projects.
Personally I have found one program which is also click based earning but I am not disclosing it right now and there are reasons for that. I would really like to know about the earning programs based on merit as said earlier. So am looking forward to some more of your research and earning ways.

i'm defnitely trying this admin...i have purchased a .com domain...and i'm using a free hosting site..i dont think adsense works with my blog (mahendragr.wordpress.com)...infact with any of wordpress i guess.

Hi,

It's a violation of policy in WordPress.com if we do include adsense.

However you could install wordpress (from wordpress.org) in your domain and start earning through adsense.

No they dont allow ads on wordpress.com user blogs. Try blogspot or your own domain for that matter.

Its a harsh reality that money from advertisers is directly proportional to the amount of visitors you get on your site or a given page.

It differs from company to company... If you have your own domain and buy hosting then there is no revenue sharing atall...
If youget a blog on blogspot you get to keep all the money from adsense once you post your own ads code in there but if its somewhere else it could be different and It wont be possible to know unless you list them here and I can have a look for you and tell you which one will allow you to have your own ads and they wont display their own ads on yor blog.

Let me add a point here.

If you do this with one or more persons, it would be bit easy. For example, your classmate in your college or your own brother. My (9 year old) niece says she's going to start blogging with her dad . Isn't it nice? In these days, if you don't have a blog, it's like you are miles away from the reality (in your own world ).

So start blogging and start earning too.

You need to upload your files to the directory mentioned by your host through ftp. The most important file is the index file (usually index.html or index.php).

hi,,i did that... i uploaded an index.html file in my domain htdocs directory...but its still showing a blank page when i enter my url

Did you add your domain name as an add-on domain in byethost?

Otherwise the uploaded file would be shown only in this place... yourusername.byethost10.com.

ya ya i did all those

i added my domain..then in ftp..i uploaded a sample index.html file..in htdocs folder of my domain..
