Looking at those ads I remembered my first experience with a real PC some 23-24 years back.
A 8086 model with 640 K ram & two 5.25 inch floppy drives where u loaded the operating system & the software in one drive & ur user storage in the other drive.

I worked on all PC models:

    a) Original PC - 8086 CPU/256 KB RAM/2 x 5.25" floppy disks (360 KB)
    b) PC/XT - 8086 CPU/256~640 KB RAM/1 HDD 10 MB/1 x 5.25" floppy (1.2 MB)
    c) PC/AT - CPU upgraded to 80286 and later 80386
    d) PC 486 - 80486 CPU/640 KB RAM/ 384 KB extended RAM/ 1 HDD 40 MB/1 x 5.25" floppy (1.2 MB) or 1 x 3.5" floppy (1.44 MB)
    and so on ...

I have also seen Windows 1.1, Windows 2.0, Windows 3.0/3.11, Windows for Workgroups, Windows/NT, Windows 95/98/2000/XP, etc.

The Megabyte has just lost all its value with the advent of the Internet.
