Such commands are to be entered on the command prompt only. It cannot be run directly from the run prompt. This is applicable to all the editions of Windows.

Please read the original post. He just sees a blinking window when he enters the command ipconfig on the run prompt. But the details are listed when he enters ipconfig on the command prompt !!

Sorry. I didn't get the first post well. Got it clear now.
I think it was not quite clear.

I am unsure about your PC. Because Windows XP and Windows Vista work like i mentioned. We need to enter the commands in command prompt. If the commands are entered plainly on the run prompt, then the result window comes and vanishes...

actually when u run ipconfig directly, it opens a separate dos-type window, runs ipconfig and then closes the window.
so all u see is a flash on the screen.
but if u are using the command prompt, u are already in the dos window, so, the ipconfig also runs in the same window and the results remain visible.

dont worry bro try this way

If that doesn't work, (On XP) Right click My Computer -> Properties. Click
on the tab that is labeled Advanced. Click on Environment Variables. Scroll
down in the window 'System Variables' until you see 'Path'. Put this in
    there:

    %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\Sy stem32\Wbem

and then check ur cmd it will definately work
