Thread: Ubuntu or Windows for torrents....??

Hi guys, please share your views on torrenting using Ubuntu and Windows?
Which offers better speeds(even slightly better).....?

Please do mention your Specific OS(eg. Windows xp pro, Ubuntu 9.10)
and also your respective torrent clients.........

Any Ubuntu users using Transmission? How is the speeds and ease of use?
I heard it works very well with Mac OS..........

I have observed noticeable difference in net speed when using Ubuntu. Transmission is great too. Protip: Use google's DNS servers for better speed. Default DNS servers provided by ISP are unreliable.

I get constant promised ISP speed on ubuntu. Enjoy!

I'm on Windows XP with uTorrent, getting around 165 kBps speed for public torrents, never tried torrent on linux.

Best torrent client for linux is deluge

These are interesting results with torrenting in ubuntu...........

Windows XP is faster than Ubuntu when you are looking to use it on torrent, but i can't say anything on security.
