Default Which OS has the ugliest UI?

As the title says, what is your opinion. What is more important? Better UI or performance?

I think Linux has the ugliest UI. I will upload one screenshot so you can see.

@Mihailo (aka ....) you are such an insult to the linux community. You are saying this because you have never used linux yourself.
Remember that linux refers only to the kernel. The UI comes from the Desktop Environment, Window manager.

Linux is fully customisable unlike the monolithic windows. If you want a good looking linux distro try Linux Mint, Kubuntu, Elementary, Zorin OS etc.

I'm in agreement with qwerty though I'll use my own curse words, however, will avoid them to be used here!

Linux, as has been said, refers to (in this case of screen shot possibly) all the distribution of it, in general. While when you want to use it on your PC, you pick up a Desktop Environment of your choice, like - Unity > KDE > MATE > Gnome 3. By the way I put them here in my order of preference, high to low.

I am sorry. That is just my opinion. I've seen Linux once. Pardon me, it was a disaster.
I will see these OSes on YouTube later if you say they are good looking.

Linux is simply not an operating system that is suited for the average PC user. I have nothing against Linux, I'm glad that it exists as it's always good for there to be alternatives in the market. But Windows and OS X is what most people feel comfortable using. Linux will never take off with the masses as it's not user-friendly enough. The average Joe and Jane doesn't want to bother with distros, they just want something that works out of the box.

But I'll have to admit, early iterations of Windows look absolutely horrid when you look at them today. I'm talking about Windows 3.1, 95 & 98 as a few examples.

Linux is the core. It does not have any frontend, only terminal for commands.
There are multiple GUI frontend that can be used with it. The most popular version of Linux now is Ubuntu Linux. There are at least 4 commonly GUI desktop available for it - Unity, XFCE (Xubuntu), LXDE (Lubuntu) and KDE. Any user familiar with Windows XP can use Xubuntu and Lubuntu with absolutely no difficulty. The only difference is in installation of new programs, otherwise, the look and feel are practically similar. I do not have any formal IT training. But did not have any difficulty in operating Xubuntu.

@damien lee - LXLE (based on Lubuntu) works completely out of box, with all commonly required softwares, including Office, getting preinstalled along with the OS. Its the best distro for the average Joe and Jane, even easier than Windows.

Try to install ubuntu as another OS on your PC and have a dual boot. Experiment with different desktop environments available in ubuntu and see if it's better than the other OS you're using on the very same machine. I'm sure you'll like it though it might take some time to get habitual of the new look and navigation style.

Xubuntu actually looks pretty nice in that screenshot, I have never seen the linux UI, however the first post makes it look ugly, but after seeing Xubuntu, I have to say, it looks great. Very similar to OSX.
