I use Vista Home Premium and didn't face any major problem till yet. The best thing i like about vista is that most of the hardwares i use with my laptop like Camera, Mobile, Printer and my Creative Mp3 Player(Which Needs driver for XP) didnt required any drivers Vista on its own configured them for my use.

But it uses lot of Ram as compared to XP.

windows server 2003 is good one but still i don't like it due to the name involved and the price which we need to pay for it, its not free for students too

Windows vista ultimate sp1. Will be switching to 64 bit. No such major issues but there are certain tweaks needed. I have 2 GB skills and e7200 clocked to 3.5 ghz. On idle, ram consumption is 28% and core consumption 1-5% on idle.

Quite obvious mate, vista loves to eat resources and it need good RAM to run properly, 2GB RAM is good enough but still according to me Vista needs atleast 4GB RAM to work cool and to show the Graphics.

^^ Never had any issues like that. Then again there are better advantages when people use rams with powerchips.I kept mine on 800mhz on 4-5-5-5 @ 2t on 1.8v. All of 4GB can be utilised only if one uses a 64 GB, or else 1GB is wasted. However its about time that they have only 64 bit OS now. 32bit has outlasted its usefulness for many users. But then again- its the odd crowd that counts so they would probably make 32 bit OS to sell them out for average users.

I know a company where they hate MS products - they have SUSE Linux Enterprise and Desktop as the standard OS, Mozilla FF as the default browser, Open Office as the standard desktop business application, throughout their offices in the US and elsewhere.
