Unhappy Alliance Network in Kolkata

i want to gather peoples opinions about alliance internet connections in kolkata.

I have had all sorts of trouble with this network (offcourse better than sify earlier). These guys provide services with channel partner / zone (cable operators). For most of the time cable operators have no idea what's going on with this internet thing and "cable services" being thier primary business they do not really care about very very few internet users.

For example over past 9 months following are few things i have learned

(a) They operate from 11 am to 5 pm. - Specially because 11 is when all the line mans can come to office and after 5 pm its dark (as they say). In my opinion this just how calcutta is so i can imagine. Moreover i have office during these ours so fixing internet during this period is such a trouble

(b) They do not keep complaint register - This leads to even bigger trouble, even if you have complain about your problem as there is no records so totally depends on the person. Once i wasted lots of time, i register (wrong word) complaint to them - waited for nearly 8 hours bunking office nothing happened - walked down to Cable operator's office, they didnt know anything. Several times i have seem them forgetting about the problem.

(c) You can disconnect - For one fine problem i dont know what ( ithink caused by CISCO router) they tried to fix it and took whole week and me bugging them around every day once. They you can disconnect your services. FYI there are no other providers

(d) Renewal - The plan i subscribed had option to carry over remaining usage.
First month i figured out they can not carry over remaining 1.2 GB downloading usage as it has be done one day prior to expiry day
Next month i figured it has to "same plan" which you have currently subscribed or it can not carry over.
Third month i fugured - they can not carry over as because i was later again - reason ALL THE SIBSCRIPTION ARE FOR 30 DAY ONLY - NOT FOR 1 MONTH

(e) Rainwater coming thru - ethernet cable - They couldnt do anything I had to fix it.

endless

i am tiered of typing

i will agree with u in some points as i have been through the same situations myself. Fortunatley enuf things are working out just fine for me. Alliance has the lousiest customer service you will ever come across and the poeple who handle the cust queries are not properly trained.
However there is nothing much you can do except to switch providers if only u find one operating in your area.

I had this one big problem with them, they had a switch on the next building beside mine, and whenever the electricity of that building went off I used to get network cable unplugged message!
Also intermittent 'network cable unplugged' message due to loose jack.

But i'll vote that Alliance is loads better then any other cable internet service provider in kolkata.
