Thread: NetGear Fast Ethernet Switch and Cable Internet

My Netgear Ethernet Switch does not connect to the service provider and always shows a yellow light on the internet indicator.

Why is this not working with the internet cable?

mention the adslmodem/router you use.
Do you use a "Dialer' to connect or ""Always On" mode ?

How many computers you are connecting to the switch ?

In the modem Enable DHCP and give
a range say 192.168.1.4. to 192.168.1.30

All computers
Start Network LAN properties
TCP/IP
Properties
Click
Obtain Ip address automatically.
DNS existing or
opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
Apply SAVE.

Recheck
Start run type cmd type ipconfig /all
IP address will change for each computer
Default gateway will remain 192.168.1.1
