Cable bundled with internet

In my hometown In Orissa..the local cable operators have come up with a fool-proof Idea..they have connected the cable and internet wires together and they split up @ house.I get broadband connection..(when I trip down from Delhi) @ 256 kbps unlimited @ rs 250 and since cable wires are so strong I rarely rarely experience any downtime..Is this the best way for local operators to make a mark in India?..

They have been bundling phone, cable and internet together in USA for the last five years. This helped in bringing the price down by almost 70%. The Indian government is not allowing the cable TV operators to provide internet and telephone service. If they do it the price will go down and quality will go up as a result of competition as happened in western countries.

Yeah..you do have a point there..The problem in India is that most of our lawmakers are too old to ever ever acknowledge what is needed for technology growth in our country..

cable cos are not allowed to rovide phone service in india thats the problem
