Exclamation "sharing neline broadband on a wireless network"

We have a neline broadband connection which is not using the 24online client software. In other words the neline cat5 cable is coming directly into the router and it has been provided with necessary IP address from the neline ISP.

The router that we are using is D-Link DSL-2640T D-Link DSL-2640T 54Mbps (802.11g) Wireless ADSL 2/2+ Router with Built-in Modem, 4-port 10/100Mbps Switch and D-Link usb wireless adapter. We have used static ip address in all the systems. Internet and file sharing is ok .... but we want to restrict some users from using the internet.

How can we do this?? One problem is that I cannot configure the router.

Please help ... Its urgent ...

The easiest way I can advise you is to run your install cd again which came in with your router and this time choose the option which says protected network and set up a password for your network and then just give the password to those whome you would like to give it to

Problem is that when I do setup from the router cd it searches for asdl and stops ... this is coz I'm using neline which is a rj 45 based cable and not adsl based (not a telephone line).

Therefore I had to keep the router settings to default.

Any help??

Try running the cd again and when it asks you about the type of connection just pick up the one which says cable or always on thing and it should work just fine... and once it gets to that password thinggy just put a password on your connection and you are done.
