    Default Broadband ka funda

I was downloading a 850 mb movie on my reliance connection of 72kbps through torrent software.

On the first day i kept the dl on for 3 hours and it showed 20% complete .
The next day i booted my pc and as usual the torrent runs on background.suddenly after 20 minutes the pc hung and i restarted and when i checked the torrent downloading it showed movie completed which is practically impossible at my speed.
    P4 1.8 ghz
    128 ram
    win xp

also my office has a tata connection of 1.28 mb

but i have downloaded files at a practically impossible speed through torrent

is it the torrent or broadband

    i cant understand

So, did you make sure that you have the full thing.
I mean, were you able to watch the full movie?
If that is so, there might be various reasons.

    1) You might have read the thing wrong earlier.

    2) There might be a problem with the client's interface. I meant that the client must have had some problem with the visual updating of the status.

Going as per your post, your file was downloaded in a total time of 3 hours and 20 minutes, that is, 200 minutes. And, you say that it was a 850 MB file. Therefore, the average download speed will go just around 72 kBps.

The it would have been so that you might have been wrong when you earlier read it, or that the client had some problem as I have already mentioned.

    LOL!!

I didn't notice one point you mentioned. But, as I have said earlier, your average download speed when calculated is exactly (maybe approximately ) 72 kBps.

Listen some days earlier one of the board members who is on Reliance Broadnet had reported a sudden spike of 10mbps while downloading. It seems u have also experienced the same.

Hi, I have a broadband connection thru Hathway with the speed of 128 kbps. Butwhen I download movies thru Torrent it gives me an Avg Download speed of 13 - 14 kbps... So can you tell me how they come to 128 kbps.. whereas I have never got this kind of a speed.
