Default Error 815 Please Help Asap

For 3 days i'm looking for a solution on my broadband connection.

It started suddenly, everything was working oke before i went to sleep,in the morning my connection gives me the error 815. The broadband network conn...bla bla.

My ISP is ClickNet Romania. My modem is a Thompson 516v6 with ethernet connection.Usually i don't even need to do nothing, the modem is preconfigured and i connect directly to the internet. But for 3 days i have this problem.I tried reinstalling my windows, and nothing happened.I still get the same error.

In network and sharing center I get the three icons.

    Computer----Unidentified Network-----X----Grey Internet Icon

My connection is working.Right now i am connected thru another USB modem but is not mine and i need to give it back.

Here is a scrnshot with my error.

    Please someone help me!!!

    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi

For DUN Error 815 please check
*if you are using the correct service name or not
*try to restart your Thompson Speedtouch router
*contact your ISP for correct values

If nothing helps then it could be NCR (No Connection to RAS) fault too, for that you need to contact your ISP.

    I resetted my modem.No help.
I called my ISP.Still no help!

As another hint...i had my PC at my girls house, the problem started there. At the moment i thought that her line is down or some problems(she has another ISP).I got to my home and the same thing happends.I tryied deleting all the connections,enable/disable my lan card, resseting my modem,unplug/plug and all this.Still nothing.I tried even going to my modems homepage and still nothing.

I don't thing the problem is from my modem or my line.Because at my girls house she doesn't have the same modem like me,everything is different but the same problem.

The username and password is correct. As i said right now i am connected with an USB modem thru my own line and is oke.My ethernet connection is the problem. But i don't think that i have a hardware problem because it still reacts to plug/unplug the cable and everything. Is just that i cannot connect.I'm getting stuck at "connecting through wan miniport".

I'm having headaches with this already

    Thank you for your time!

    Back with some news.

It looks like my modem came with a instalation CD.
Tried running it.It gives me some weard error.Even the wizard says that is a general problem and "this should normally not happend":001_tongue:

I looked at the details of the connection. Some wierd characters appear there.

In my partitions everywhere i found a 0 byte file named "_____".

It looks like a virus is eating my nerves.

But...i already reinstalled my OS only for this problem and from the first min did not worked.A virus needs some minutes to infect your windows files and processes.I runned a virus scan with my NOD 32 v3 and nothing found. In none of the partitions.

What now guys???I'm starting to loose my hopes here:hang:

There are some problem with your USB modem driver. Your network connection shows limited connectivity. Can you able to ping your modem??

untitled.jpg shows that your computer is not obtaining IP address from your ISP as 169.254.x.x is an unreachable DHCP IP range.

Try uninstalling/deleting WAN MINIPORT from network connections.

    Default error 815

Seems your OS is Vista confirm.
This error is specific to Vista.
Please do not use same title for different screen shots.

"Enable logging" the error in the error window which appears.
    Check any useful information.

    Disable IPV6 in Network page.
Instead of Obtain IP address automatically
    enter 192.168.1.10
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1
    dns 208.67.220.220
    208.67.222.222
    Apply Save.

i am connected with an USB modem thru my own line and is oke
I'm getting stuck at "connecting through wan miniport".

START RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all
Post ipconfig /all when using USB modem

Post Ipconfig /all when using LAN port. with Thomson modem.

Try "Always On " connection instead of "Bridged " dialer mode.
