    Default networking

    Q: i get internet form an local isp from the localty.. he is using swtich ... and i get 1 desktop pc and 1 laptop .... can i connect my coming connection from isp to two both the pc ... using swtich any thing else
    please help me

    If your incoming connection is via ethernet, you can add a switch.

    Any link to a network can almost always be re-distributed in turn. And since you mention the provider's local and they use a switch you may not be able to use a switch in the house since your provider may not give you two ip addresses and both computers are gonna need one to be able to connect.

    So one way this could work for you is to get something like a gateway router/switch for example Linksys WRT54G. If the provider gives you a private ip address you could set a different private ip in a different range for your network and the ip given by the provider would be slapped against the WAN side of the router/switch and this most certainly would work.
