    Default Please help....Configuring Beetel 450BXI

    Hi,

    I have a Beetel 450BX1 ADSL2 + Modem (it
has 1 adsl port, 4 lan port and a wifi antenna)
from Airtel. Now I have changed my broadband provider
to some local service provider. They provide
direct RJ45e cable to be connected directly to
the computer. I want to understand how I can
use ADSL + Modem to surf internet on wi-fi on
my laptop and through a CAT cable on computer.

Right now my router is on factory settings, as i have hard-resettled it.

I have a static IP provided from ISP.

    mention the service provider name.
    Hathway/Reliance/Tikona/ etc.

    (2) EDIT your post and delete all tunnel data.
    Only Lan details required.

    (3)
Beetel450BXI--- for wifi settings etc. see signature link below WA3002-g4.

Presume you mean the Beetel 450BXI wifi router. Not connected.
Connect Rj45 from ISP to LAN1 Another Rj45 from LAN2 to computer.
    Confirm Internet connection works.

I have a static IP provided from ISP.
This has to be entered in TCP/IP properties of all systems.
    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 172.16.20.10
    (5)
Confirm you get connected to Internet and can surf.

    it Worked !!!

    1. Configure your ADSL modem with no IP or DHCP
    2. Configure laptop's wi-fi IP as provided by SITI
    3. Connect SITI cable to ADSL.
Bingo ! It works Essentially speaking, the ADSL is now
    working as mere switch.

Limitation - I can connect only 1 device, but its some thing I
    can manage for now !

    Feedback item wise.

    1. Worldphone (Can't get VPI/VCI settings from them)

    2. Done

    3. Didn't help

    4. Internet connection not working using Beetel in LAN connection mode as you suggested. If that can be done half of my problem would resolve. If i can use my beetel as a switch that can be a half solution as well.

    5. I have two IPs and i can surf from both. With one IP without user-name and password and with other IP with a user-name and password. But that for later as if now just presume that i wanna work with 172.16.20.10 which doesn't require to login and all.

Now i seem to have a problem that this is the IP i need to surf internet. And if i use this IP in my PC then i can not connect to my router as it is on 192.168.1.1 and i should connect to it with some ip like 192.168.1.XX

So how i am suppose to connect with my router using my 172.16.20.10, help me...

    1. Please mention your OS.

    2. If Windows 7 , you can use " Connectify " and use your PC to a wifi hotspot. By this way, you can use any no. of systems using wifi. If your server PC is desktop, add a wifi dongle/card to it.

This needs more clarification. How two IPs One static and another Dynamic ?
( In computer the Ethernet Network card cannot be set for two IP's.
When you are connected to Internet in either mode
    check here :
    http://myipaddress.com
    Does it show different IP

Selecting In TCP/IP propereties "Obtain Ip address automatically" may work )

The broadband connection seems to be something like 24 Online mode.
We have to imagine that there is a hub or switch at ISP end and you are connected to that unit.
    4.
If you can try with a WIFI router ( example Netgear wgr614 V9) which has a WAN( Internet port), probably both lan and wifi mode can work.
ISP sees the MAC address of the wifi router.
    4a.
    1. Configure your ADSL modem with no IP or DHCP
In Lan page instead of 192.168.1.1 use your Isps gateway.
    Disable DHCP.
    3.
THE LINK WA 3002_g4 has Chennai link with screen shots.
Modem hardware board is same.In this case may not help.
In normal conditions with modem reset to factory defaults all
vpi/vci links are set to "Bridged" mode.

    Hey Essbebe,

    Its almost working !!!

I connected Rj45e cable to LAN2, connected LAN1 to PC, and used the IP, Subnet, and default gateway what i generally used to do when i directly connect Rj45e cable to my PC LAN card i.e.

    Ip : 172.16.20.10
    Subnet: 255.255.0.0
    Gateway: 172.16.50.1
    DNS server: 172.16.50.1

surprisingly it worked now. This was the easiest setup and IP configuration i might think of, and suprisingly it worked this time (after hard-reset, some WAN settings i changed, don't know what was that). Dumb me.

I can also connect with my laptop to the Wi-Fi spot of router with the IP 172.16.5.198 and other setting same as above. (I got two IPs to surf)

    My WAN info is this:

    WAN Info

    VPI/VCI 1/32
    VLAN Mux Off
    Con. ID 1
    Category UBR
    Service pppoe_32_1
    Interface ppp_0_1_32_1
    Protocol PPPoE
    Igmp Disabled
    QoS Disabled
    State Enabled
    Status Up
    IPv4 Address 122.177.151.150

It seems may be my service provider VPI/VCI is 1/32. What i am trying to find out from last 8 months.

Now there is only 1 issue left which is major 1 i think. My connection is very stable with router it doesn't disconnect or something but my Internet is too slow comparatively. Before i used to get 400kBps download speed in utorrent, but now it seems to never cross 120-25 at best. But that is fine that not the real issue.

Real issue is that i can't browse webpages. 120-125kBps is a very good speed. But when i browse any webpage it seems that i am on 10-12kBps speed, even google takes 5 seconds to load. That is not cool. It seems that connection is restricted by some short of settings in router. Situtation is same for both PC (LAN) and Laptop (Wi-Fi).

Yes 1 more thing when i am on 192.168.1.1 in my browser, it refreshes continously. I don't know whats wrong.

    Any suggestions ?????

I am trying to find a solution for this from last 8-9 months. Help me.
Congrats. desktop working when connected via Beetel 450BXI

I can also connect with my laptop to the Wi-Fi spot of router with the IP 172.16.5.198 and other setting same as above. (I got two IPs to surf)
Laptop in wifi mode with a different IP !

    172.16.20.10 - - - - PRIVATE IP ADDRESS LAN
    172.16.50.1 - - - - PRIVATE IP ADDRESS LAN
    172.16.5.198 - - - - PRIVATE IP ADDRESS LAN

    Para two:
i am distressed, that new users like you, do not like to share any
information in the thread and skip giving details
    how the problem was solved.
and switch over to new problem/s which you face. and again need solutions/suggestions.

    Have a nice day.
