Yes. My vote for BSNL also. No idea about ASIANET - it is non existant here in MH (it is probably local to KL and TN).

But BSNL provides best value for money plans. Their CC is not all that great but that you can say for almost every provider.

I think kerala just only BSNL can work, bcos its a govt. concern. people in general do not take connections from any pvt. operators like airtel or others. but the service is pretty bad. a relative of mine recently shifted from bangalore and took a bsnl broadband connection. from day one during the mid july 08 till date, its not working properly. the person is now cursing why the hell moved to kerala in the first place. the idea was to be near to parents and also the work was such that it can be done from anywhere. now thinks its a big mistake of having moved out of bangalore.
also during rainy season, its is guaranteed that your connection can be down for atleast a couple of days.

man, asianet is gud if u r a daytime user, night time, ha ha ha..

but asianet being somewhat private has its own private cost-effective rules (like cutting net during free surf time, etc) and bsnl being govt has its own rules of unsolved tech probs like not able to login to orkut, gmail, others at some places.

Asianet is the best in kerala .
    Its got the cheapest prices.
    Eg: Rs 99 for 1gb per month!(256kb)
Its cc is very efficient & fast .if u have a problem they'il solve it within 1hr max.
    I pay rs 199 for 1gb per month(2mb/s).

Dont know about the rest of the pack, but i would suggest BSNL anyday. Asianet is fast losing subscribers as majority are switching to BSNL. Hence Asianet is desperate to retain subscribers with never before heard offers. With the introduction of IPTV in kerala from BSNL, Asianet's doom will be sealed.

PS : Stay away from Reliance Broadnet too.

But I have heard so many people complain about the speeds.
Also, its not available everywhere in Kerala now.

Asianet uses a shared infrastructure, i think. So if an internet cafe using Asianet as its ISP is near the premises, then the overall speed will be affected. Personally i have never used it, but they were the main ISP in workplace. Switched to BSNL and now am enjoying tension free service

Yes. BSNL is the only one on which we can rely on (and maybe not completely ) for now. We can hope that we get more good ISPs soon, or that BSNL is going to take advices from me...

I would disagree. Any other ISP you take offering 2mbps, the upload speed is limited to about 512k. TATA, Airtel, BSNL, Reliance. Asianet also gives 512kbps upload speed.

    EVERY ONE SAYING 512kbps.
    i agree.
but i used BSNL broadband in my friends home and i upload t net.
that showing a speed of average 84-90kb/s actual speed.

but in asianet 35kb/s-45 is the avg speed got .
a stable speed is about 12-22kb/s in free time.

Just because one friend got 90kBps doesnt mean every one will get the same. It may be some error, just like you are getting about 7mbps on 2mbps connection.

Im on ADL and I m getting about 58kBps. Check the screenshot. If you are not getting the proper speed, raise a complaint with ADL.

Netlimiter is a software which can used to limit the existing bandwidth of a connection. Commonly employed in firms and cybercafes..

that means it used to limit the speed, i think its used to show the progress of the upload and download correctly.
is that helpful for that. cool_techie_tvm

600-900 kbps mounts to just 75 kBps ~ 112.5 kBps. I thought u were on a 2mbps plan. Mate, u should be getting speeds of the order of 2048kbps..
