Arrow Prince Of Persia IV [2008]- Review

Prince Of Persia IV [2008]- Review

    Plot

The main character is a wandering tomb raider, who got dragged in to a mission to help a Princess to seal Ahriman, an evil god of destruction.

    Review

Only started playing Prince Of Persia IV. The graphics are like beautiful painting with a magical feeling. The game is nothing like the other Prince Of Persia games. The controls and even game playing style are different. Some of the Prince's moves are still the same. It's like a different game with the same title.

The best part is, there is no Game Over. You can keep playing as long as you can.
Of course you can save and resume playing later. And unlike the other Prince Of Persia games this one isn't about fighting of destroying enemies, but much more.

    System Requirements

    • Operating System: Windows XP/Vista
    • Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
    • RAM: 1 GB for Windows XP/2 GB for Vista
    • Graphics Card: 256 MB DirectX 10.0 compliant video card or DirectX 9.0 compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher
    • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 compliant sound card
    • DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
    • Hard Drive Space: 8 GB

Those are some nice screenshots, those graphics look like some neat Drawing, is the game also like that or is it just the cut scenes ?

The whole game is like that. The last four screenshots are from cut scenes.

    Here's my review :-

The Plot : You get to play as a man who is a tomb raider and steals gold from the dead to earn a living (He is definitely NOT a prince... at least not yet). He gets lost in the desert due to a sand storm and out of strange circumstances he meets up with a beautiful princess, Elika, who can also perform powerful magic. They soon discover that an evil god, Ahriman is trying to escape and consume the world in darkness and thus their fate becomes entwined. Your goal is now clear and you have to stop a god. With the magical powers of Elika you have to heal sacred places called The Fertile Grounds located throughout the city thereby preventing evil to escape. And overcome the great perils that lie in your path.

    Game Play
The game play is more or less good. Fast and new acrobatics have been added to the game. Not to mention the new combat system which I felt to be best in the series so far. You carry a sword and a gauntlet. And you can use your combat moves in combination to that of Elika's magic attacks. No worries of health, percentage damage or what so ever. Instead you'll be given a way to recover your strength. When undamaged you can fight normally. When hurt the edges of the screen will be red. And if you get seriously hurt a sequence of buttons that flash on the screen has to be pressed to recover your strength. Failure to do so will push you back to last check point.

I also the interaction sequence that can be manually triggered. So you can press a button and that will start random conversation which sometimes get funny and seems to be a nice break after a long run.

    Graphics
The graphics seems to be very polished however the game seems to be somewhat 2D. It might have been done to show off the brilliant art work but I preferred the last gen 3D look better.

    The Downside
I still have no idea why the game is called "Prince" Of Persia as the lead character is not a Prince. The game also lacks action so the new combat system is less of a use in most parts of the game. No more fighting hordes of enemies. You only get to fight bosses. Minions appear rarely. So that's just one fight in each level or Fertile Ground.

Final Conclusions : The game is very different from its predecessors. Ok. Except the fact that there's a damsel in distress. Over all the game is very much enjoyable. The ending of the game is unlike anything too. Just don't expect anything from last gen POP series and things will be fine.

    Overall : 8/10

    Nice review. Rep +

With other games I would try to finish as soon as I can. But I don't feel like ending this game. Seems you also haven't finished playing the Game.

    ?? what??
The reason for this is because,
earlier my rep was negative and i no reps.

then i got from, my Rep power came to 1, after my rep crossed 10 points. my rep power is 2.

So i drew that conclusion, but i maybe wrong

I started playing GTA: San Andreas, without finishing Prince of Persia IV. I don't want to finish the game soon.

GTA: San Andreas is not good, the graphics is low quality. But at least the game is running smoothly in 1 GB RAM. And it's going to take a long time for me to finish it.

It does not run too well in my PC (even at lowest settings). I have 2 GB ram. Possibly because I dont have Core2Duo or higer processor, I have Dual Core. Anyway the point is the game is full of bugs.

I set the quality as Very High in the menu. Still the quality is too low.

Speaking of bugs. Check this. Shadow of vehicles under the bridge.
