Which platform is better for gaming?
A PC in which requirements increase with newer games OR a console in which one can play all the games realised for it without any problems?

a PC wins hands down for sooooo many reasons. I could do a thread on the reasons itself !
their is no reason to compare PC vs consoles. Consoles can never beat PC.
If you are only considering pure gaming experience, then I am sorry to say that both rajan and vorazeal are wrong - you have no idea about console games - a console beats the hell out of a PC in the gaming experience.
PC wins because it can do so many other things and thus has more utility value.

Usually many people start their very first game on a PC. Soon they get use to their PCs and further want more and more hi-tec games.
This question arises when you want to upgrade your gaming platform.
The choices you have are
1. Upgrade your PCs good old hardwares (like video card and memory) and stick with it.
OR
2. Get a console which is specially made to play games.
I myself own a PC as well as a Console and I have realised it myself that a PC can NEVER beat a console.
I dont expect you to belive me so easily so just ask anyone you know who owns a PC and a Console.
I had expected Consoles to get the maximum number of votes but unfortunately their are many who chose the first choice I have mentioned above.
Now a days most games are realised on consoles than on a PC.
So now just think about your comment that my question is stupid.

Ok, let me end this for you. Both have pros and cons, ill state them for you.
Points for the PC:
PC games have FAR better graphics and actual gameplay as compared to any console. Please dont argue on that. PS3 games run at 720p, PC games can run at much higher resolutions even with a mid range system. PC games generally have much more detailed graphics too.
You can always upgrade you PC to improve your experience,you cant do that with a console.
A pc is so much more flexible, you can do much more,on the other hand a console can do only limited things.
PC games are far cheaper than PS3/Xbox360 games.
Console games run at only 30fps, the PC games can run at much higher rates, resulting in much better gameplay.
Points for the Console:
Cheaper initial investment.
Dedicated hardware and more interactive Input devices give it a better feel.
PS3 is one of the best Bluray players out there. So its a good added feature.
@tech123, please tell the full configuration of your PC and which console you own. Its not fair to compare the gaming of a low end PC with a PS3.
I have used a PS3 and Xbox 360 and i can compare that to my PC and i feel the PC is far better. Have you people seen DIRT 2 ,GRID running at 1920x1080 at max settings and AA ? If you have, you would not start this thread.

But I have seen GTA 4 running at my friends house and trust me he has a very high end PC which meets all the requirments for( cant remember the proper configuration) GTA 4 and I did not like it.
When I played GTA 4 on my PS3 with my 32 inch LCD TV you wont belive me I spend exactly 18 hours 30 minutes playing it for the first time.
Can you tell me the reason why the GTA 4 PS3 and XBOX360 verson have been rated 10 on 10 by gamespot and the PC verson just 9.
And if you are compairing games compare the same game. Just get your PS3 version of DIRT 2 and then compare it with your PCs version.
And I had the same experience with Burnout Paradise too.
You may be right, GTA 4 is rated 9/10 for PC but i just really hate that game !
I have played DIRT 2 on the PC but not the PS3 (PS3 was my frens btw), but by looking at the screenshots, i can say that the PC looks better,IF YOU CAN RUN IT. How does Shift look on the PS3 bro ? have not played it on console but looks awesome on TV(PC)

PS3 and XBox 360 games are also available in Full HD (1080p).
I have played it on PC and i can say that Racing games are best for PCHow does Shift look on the PS3 bro ? have not played it on console but looks awesome on TV(PC). It is very good game. But I have not completed it.
most i know are upscaled and not natively at full HD res. don't know if i made sense :P
But i find it hard to understand that a system that plays stuff at 720p and gives 30fps gives the same performance at 1080p.
anyways, the prices are just too bad....Rs1500 min for a game that you may finish in just 5 hrs is a tad too costly for an average indian gamer like me.

lol no not at all, it seems you don't have a very good PC. Sony is making the upcoming PS4 and i am sure its graphic card will be alot alot inferior then ATI 5990.

A console really takes the player into the game. Because it has all those hand held controllers, feedback, interactive gaming, and all that jazz. Play a game of tennis or golf of the Wii. Then come back and tell me that PC is better.
Remember also that consoles have to be played on TVs and hence cannot have higher resolution. But graphics is just one aspect of the game. I have a PS2 at home and the games on PS2 (like Price of Persia - The Sands of Time) just beat the $hit out of many PC games.
But the PC has much more utility value.
I do agree, wii is a lot more fun (atleast with tennis !).
But then, we can have 3D gaming on PC (very costly but will become cheaper soon). Even eyefinity feels good.
o so you say that if you are very tired you will go and play games in Wii, Fun is not only while playing....it will be bored while playing Wii games after you play it for hrs.
Graphics matters the much, you can't say that you will play Soldier Of Fortune 2 rather then Modern Warfare, even if SOF2 has better story.
So its about the graphics and the story,and the most imp thing is the graphics.
People who are supporting consoles does not have a good graphic card, so they prefer consoles. Even PC has big monitors....
& Yes people buy PS3/XBOX because they can't afford to buy a good gaming PC as consoles are much cheaper.
i agree that pc has many good games.and graphics are very good.but when u will get a PS3,u will know how it feels on a console sitting on bed and enjoying game with hands.
Yep i don't have a PS3 but i have played PS2 which i felt was awesome.You enjoy the fighting games very much.
And yes PC also has many things that console can't have(till now).
And u said that people can't afford.the answer is when the PS4 arrives then if its Rs50K and the 5970 is Rs36K then what will we say???he can't afford a PS4 so he got the Graphics card.
But yeah i am with PC as it has much better graphics+extensions with which u can play as a console.
