Thread: Playstation 3 to get 45nm Cell processor

If u are planning to invest on a PS3, it is better to hold your horses for the time being. According to Sony Europe's President David Reevers, they are planning to release PS3 with 45nm cell processors. These upgraded versions should be available by June - July 2009. Well apart from the performance enhancements why is this important news for gamers? Because the cost of the console can be considerably reduced with the introduction of 45nm cell processors. Lesser power consumption in tandem with less heat being generated are also welcome additions of the new processor.

Nopes, the performance of the console will be enhanced but less power will be consumed and lesser heat will be generated when in operation..
