Thread: My Playstation 2

I am feeling very happy to announce that I have finally purchased a Playstation, though its not the latest one i.e. PS3, I got the PS 2.

I got it modified.

My PS2 got a 80 GB Harddisk, means no need to change DVD's now and then.
I got around 22-24 preloaded games. (I choose the games which needs to be loaded.)
They have installed some chip in the game, which can run pirated DVD's

Overall the game costed my nearly 11k, which includes the player, two consoles, 80 GB harddisk, 8 MB memory card, 24 Preloaded games.

It was a surprise gift from my wife, but as she doen't know much about gadgets she kept on asking me the details, so i guessed

well yeah.. i had heard abt it.. regarding tht chip.. which u have to install in your console.. for which can play pirated dvd games.. i dont remember the name.. but it seems basically there are two types of it.. one as u got .. where u can play pirated ones.. and one without tht chip.. where only original dvds work...

but.. one of my friend told me.. tht.. if u install tht chip.. it viods the warranty.. it was long time back.. so dont remember much..

na.. i dont think they are just altering the firmware. i think they are inserting some extra chip,,, well lets wait for mannu bhai's reply..

Yaar altering the chip architecture is a complicated process. I mean the fabrication and other stuffs cannot be simulated elsewhere (apart from the places where they are meant to be assembled). Anyways i am waiting forward for a reply with regards to this query..

yes, I know, I have the old one with me, just for a change, I found a dragon with a M so thought of putting it, even i feel so that the previous one was better, anyway, thanks saurav for your comment.

Your friend is absolutely right, to install a chip, they have to open a seal which inturn void the warranty.

BTW, my b'thday is next month

i was also thinkin of going in for it, but found out that it has absolutely no hardware support for antialiasing , so dint go ahead... not to be a spoil sport for you... u probably wont feel the difference with a regular SD tv.
