sorry people for the lame tittle name..
Things are getting hot in the American backwaters as Russia sends its Warships to the Caribbean in response to the American naval buid up near its own coast under the guise of Humanitarian Aid to Georgia.
"Peter the Great" one of Russia's Flag ship accompanied by a few other war ships and escort submarines will visit Venezuela a sworn enemy of the U.S...

Previously Russia had also sent Tu-160 strategic Bombers to Venezuela to demonstrate that Russia had recovered from its 'Post Soviet Collapse' and was on its way back to claiming its lost position after the collapse of the Communist govt...

Russia will also pass Syria where it plans to upgrade one of its outposts into a full fledged naval Base....this will give it a vital foot hold in the middle east which is strategically very important to the U.S and its Ally Israel ...

Soon after the new president was elected ...Russia started to resume its Long Distance Bomber sorties to reclaim the skies and started modernizing and building up its military .... This is a direct challenge to the U.S which after the collapse of Communist Russia went unchallenged ....

So lets see if this all leads to a showdown ..... or is merely another cold war

This is frightening stuff. i really don't know why Russia and the U.S are entertaining this. I think it is just a contest of will, both goading each other into something that is not necessary.

Correct ... power struggle ....

Russia is also touchy about Georgia getting NATO membership ...

But some of the European countries(France)have been following a milder approach which may diffuse the crysis ... Lets hope they do !... If both Russia and US get into a war .. nuclear Missiles may be used by the losing side .. and both have them in abundance

I actually like it that Russia is rising again... I didint like Americans acting like Big BOSS for the whole world and poking their finger in every hole they could find.

The era of cold war was much safer then it is now and if US and Russia create a balance again I guess there would be a much safer world to live in.

USA and Russia cannot go to war at any cost and I am sure leaders of these two great nations know how to sit down on a table and fight out a war or words and prevent a real war in the process. Negotiating power is what Russia is gaining and to have a say in the world which it did loose after the communist collapse there.

still i think we can not say anything about US as they can go to any extend to show there power of stupidity, before this we already have few examples of same like saddam and osama search missions where thousands of people lost there homes and lives

Putin increases Russia 's Defense expenditure by 27 % !...And Russia is planning to build a no of Nuclear submarines ... so that it can be stationed at sensitive areas .... Nuclear submarines are capable of being under water without resurfacing for months together ... so that they can keep watch on a particular area anywhere in the world ...Russia has made it clear that these moves are aimed directly against the U.S

Russia also sent a warship to the coast of Somalia to recapture one of its Munition Cargo ships containing weapons and few tanks .... These were formerly hijacked bu Somalian pirates....

These r quiet some aggressive moves by Russia

There is an Indian ship whihc is in Somalia right now and this was hijacked a few days ago... Indian government did nothing about this

I am really happy to see Russia rising again. After the fall of Soviet Union there is no true partner India can trust.Now we have resurging partner and a natural ally.
