Market-leading software that can assist orthopaedic surgeons in performing pre-operative planning and templating is now available as an optional feature integrated with KODAK CARESTREAM PACS, Kodak’s Health Group reported today. The ORTHOVIEW Orthopaedic Digital Imaging Software adds new digital imaging tools and capabilities that can be used in treating both pediatric and adult patients.

“Orthopaedic specialists are rapidly converting to digital imaging and practice management technologies,” said Michael W. Jackman, General Manager, Healthcare Information Solutions, and Vice President, Eastman Kodak Company. “Integrating leading orthopaedic software into our PACS platform equips hospitals, trauma centers and orthopaedic practices with new tools that assist physicians in the accuracy of surgical planning.” The new software is an enhancement to the current version of ORTHOVIEW software that is integrated with Kodak’s CARESTREAM PACS (picture archiving and communications system) platform. In addition to its highly scalable PACS, Kodak also offers medical image management solutions that combine a single PACS workstation with one or more digital imaging systems.

Kodak’s Health Group provides services to help hospitals, imaging centers and orthopaedic practices implement PACS, optimize new digital workflows and integrate PACS with practice management systems. ORTHOVIEW software is just one of a suite of clinical applications - such as image fusion and cardiac CT - that can be integrated into KODAK CARESTREAM PACS. Kodak also provides business continuity/disaster recovery planning and Kodak-hosted storage solutions to help healthcare providers meet HIPAA and other privacy requirements.
