Kodak Receives Health Canada Approval of Its Digital Mammography System Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) announced it has obtained Health Canada approval for its computed radiography (CR) system for mammography and that the company will immediately begin selling this innovative system in Canada. The KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR Mammography Feature enables mammography images to be captured digitally while utilizing the health provider’s existing mammography X-ray unit. This optional feature is available when purchasing a high-productivity KODAK DIRECTVIEW CR 850 or CR 975 system or as a retrofit to currently installed KODAK CR 850/950/975 systems.
“We are delighted that healthcare providers in Canada are now able to benefit from our innovative CR for mammography system,” said Dina Vazzana, General Manager, Mammography Solutions, Kodak’s Health Group. “Computed radiography enables medical facilities to benefit from the latest digital technology in a cost-effective manner that complements their existing departmental workflow structure.”
Kodak’s CR for mammography feature has been selling successfully in Europe, Greater Asia, Japan and Latin America for more than 18 months. Kodak’s Health Group has installed hundreds of systems with this feature in facilities such as clinics, breast imaging centers and hospitals. Kodak has also applied for regulatory approval from the FDA in order to begin selling this system in the U.S. |
