Comodo recognized for its patent pending VerificationEngine solution that offers anti-phishing protection to consumers for free

Jersey City, NJ (July 12, 2006) – Comodo, a global leader in Identity and Trust Assurance Management solutions for the Internet, was recently named as a finalist in CNET’s UK prestigious Technology Award 2006. CNET, a leading global media company covering technology and security-related products, selected Comodo from hundreds of competitors in recognition of Comodo’s innovation in Identity and Trust Assurance solutions.

Comodo was named as a finalist for its patent pending VerificationEngine (VE) product that uses Comodo’s proprietary See, Verify, Trust (SVT) technology. With VE, consumers can defeat phishing attacks by verifying that a web site’s content such as a logo graphics or bank log-in boxes belong to the business the web site claims to be. To activate this level of site identity assurance, consumers simply download the free “reader” called VerificationEngine which provides an indicator that confirms the site identity with a non browser-based and thus non spoofable indicator that ensures virtually risk-free transactions. VerificationEngine is a critical component of Comodo’s mission to create trust online by defeating security attacks before they happen.
