what is the problem?? your supposed to get 256kbps.. u r getting 290
dont rely on speed test as these are not accurate and definitley if you are complaining about the upload speed then you will definitely get low upload speeds as compared to download speed
but, is 40 kbps upload speed sufficient enough for a 256 K connection? .... and i have tested it on many sites. D/U meter also shows Up speed of not more than 50 kbps.
64kbps or 8KBps is the max upload speed for 256kbps plan & you won't get full speed but around 80-90% so by that account you should get around 51-57kbps upload speed.also if you are far away from exchange that also affects the upload speed.i get around 400 kbps upload speed while given upload speed is 512kbps in home 500 plan & i am around 2 km away from local exchange.
it's BSNl that's how.some lucky users even get 400-500kbps download speeds on 256kbps plan.
Hi,
I am using Home 500C+ plan . I just want to ask that in the night after 2 when i seed my torrents i get only 50 - 60 Kbps speed even there are good no. of leechers . Is it Ok as per my plan and is there any other way that i can increase my upload speed of torrents.
Plzzzz reply me as soon as possible
Thankx in Advance
yup same goes here. even i get around 20-25kbps upload speed on individual torrents.
my mistake!originally bsnl has the policy of providing upload speed as 1/4th of max download speed but later they changed it for unlimited plan 256kbps which now has upload speed=download speed but for limited plans like home 500 this policy still holds.
now you got a point there!
i've just upgraded the firmware of my router...i can now see the advanced tab in overview :) ... here are SNR n Line attenuation values .... plz chk if they r fine...
SNR (Downstream) 30.5 dB
SNR (Upstream) 5 dB
Line Attentuation(Downstream) 23.0 dB
Line Attentuation(Upstream) 12.0 dB
this value is very low.it must be above 10.make sure that the line goes into splitter directly & no phone is connected before splitter.also you need to get your line checked by bsnl.before that make sure that operational mode of modem is G.dmt & not ADSL2.Quote:
SNR (Upstream) 5 dB
get your line checked by bsnl then.
BSNL uses ADSL technology. and you know ADSL stands for assymatric digital subscriber line. thus there should be assymatry between upload and download speed
yes poolboys its its fine... dont worry about your upload speed as you are using ADSL and on ADSL its absolutly fine speed you need not to worry about upload speed and dont think about BSNL coz everyone know about the tech support of BSNL... :D
on ADSL not even a single provider gives you gurantee of max upload speed... but you can get good upload speed on SDSL connection as on SDSL upload and download speed are same.. but on ADSL there is no as such guranteed speed even BSNL can not do anything about your upload speed bro...
cheers
aadi :)
