I think the only thing which comes as a hurdle in rebuilding a relationship is ego and if one can keep their ego aside there is no stopping .

yup Ego is the problem . f both people involved r sincerely interested in mending the relationship ..its no prob at all .... But nowadays most people do not know this art ..

I have a few fights like everybody ... but i always make a point to review my actions later when i am in a more calm mood and apologize if there is any mistake on my part .... My policy is to Always be the first to apologize ... It works wonders ... Most people respond in a very positive manner and later become very good friends ....

But ofcourse Nothing is perfect and it does nt work all the time .There are some people who have an anti-social [Ego problem] attitude and they r proud of it. you can never make up with them . Thankfully there are very few of them around so not much of a big prob.

Broken relationships can still be rebuilt as long as both sides are still willing to change for good.

There is no harm in changing for good.

From a personal point of view, it would depend on the reason for the breakdown. I am not a very forgiving person and I never forget.

Any relationship really needs to be worked at, and I think couples who really want to be together will fight to stay together.

Yes, but it takes a lot of time and patience. My best friend cheated on his girlfriend and it took them 4 yrs to get back together...Recently they got married... It was a long hard road with lots of stress and tears, but if you think its worth it... Then go for it...

But personally I'm inclined to believe that trust destroyed by a violation such as infidelity is irreparable and any attempt to go down the road of repair is really just prolonging an inevitable parting of the ways because few people can live without absolute trust, safety and security in their intimate relationships, where they are at their most vulnerable...

You may want to see a counselor...
