Thread: Limited 3G operators in Chennai and TamilNadu

Is it true that Reliance is not providing 3G services in Chennai and tamilnadu as they dont have licence.The same is the case with Tata Docomo and Idea.They also cannot offer 3G in chennai and tamilnadu.

It seems that only BSNL,Airtel,Aircel and Vodafone have licence to offer 3G services in Chennai and Tamil nadu.

Does anyone comment on this...

According to a Idea show room manager ,they are planning to piggy back on Voda network in Tamilnadu when Voda settles down after trials and launch. (Idea will give voda access in states where they dont have liecence)
Reliance- No idea.
Idea just launching in AP apart from BSNL,Airtel,Aircel I think.

no that was wrong.. reliance and docomo 3g service is running on tamilnadu and chennai..

no.. My friend using that... No roaming..

Can you post the speed results from speetest.net for Reliance and Tatadocomo 3g in chennai? I think they are doing trials by borrowing others spectrum.
I called up reliance customer care.They told it will take some time to launch in chennai.Now they are doing trials it seems.

It not just about launching it.......!! Its All about proper coverage ..!!!

The auction held last yr sep(ie 2010) Now it is Apr -2011.

no telecom company has the proper coverage in kolkata except reliance

Bsnl the largest telecom .. Govt owned...! still not able to cover most of the area in kolkata ... Bsnl only upgraded the towers on or near to their exchanges. only to 3.6 Mbps connection.! remaining towers of BSNL shows GPRS not even EDGE. Now you know y BSNL suffers... No proper implementation n Maintainence..!

Vodafone and Aircel also launced but too late in march-11 but still no coverage... in my place...! Only Central n Some Regions of North n South kolkata is covered.
