Try to get in touch with the Nodal Officer or Appelate Authority armed with the reciepts of various payments made towards the connection. In no time your problem should be addressed.

Any ideas about the downstream SNR? I had a horrible experience with reliance broadnet some years earlier. Although the DSLAM was present in the neighboring building, i always faced frequent disconnections. Stopped using the connection and now i have modded the utstar modem with d-link firmware and using it as backup modem for my BSNL broadband.

If you mean they have used one continuous stretch of 500m of Cat5/6 wire then you will most probably see connection issues as these wires shouldn't be more than 100m without some type of repeater.

@dnash:their DLC box is far from my home they have taken 460MTRS of single wire from DLC to a pole near my house and on that pole they installed an 10x10 inch box and from their i have taken the connection 460+(60mtrs home) wiring is done, and about speed u wont believe me i received speeds of 2MPBS plan i.e 230KBPS in 75KBPS plan for 1 week i've downloaded tons of stuff in that week and after that speed is coming as promised no disconnections either and ping times are lightening fast i've never thought i will receive that kind of service from reliance and their cust care is fyne, before reliance i was suffering from sify assband for ex a ping iax.vyke.com gives 330ms in sify in reliance i get 150ms pings!!!!!! i rate reliance 10 on 10 and also their login page also opens very fast

first i have doubt with reliance about speed connectivity etc that's why i opted for Base 75KBPS flat fee u wont believe i get 9 KBPS all the time!!!! no downtime at all, next month i will switch to 300KbPS flat fee.

and about reliance cust care i just cant believe i called once in cust care for login page problem and their service person came next day for help!!! i don't know why people curse reliance here or may be i am so lucky:thumbup1:

Same thing happened with me actually...took a while before I got the connection.

I'm on 300 kbps flat fee right now...planning to upgrade to 400 kbps.
Reliance connectivity rocks for sure...that's why I've stuck with it since last one & half years. Its the only isp which provides the speed it promises...sometimes even more.
If only they could improve their customer care service.

Just wait till you start seeing problems with their DHCP server not assigning you an IP address. I went through that torture for about 9 months. When I finally decided to cancel my connection they were taking too long. I had to threaten then with a case in Consumer Court before they finally disconnected it.

@dn: touchwood till now i don't encounter any problem and about that ip address problem with DHCP server i never encountered single problem, maybe where u r living they have issue like that but its not everywhere.

@pow:it happened 3 times with me they never took more than 1 day to rectify it,and in which city u r located???
