Default static to dynamic ip in router

hey all, i am using d-link dir-635 broadband router, as if now i am not facing any problem with it and i have taken an static ip now i want to take a dynamic ip, now the problem is that in static ip they give the ip gate waw, ip etc... now in dynamic ip it is a changing ip, so how should i enter these informations in my router.

the dyynamic ip page goes something like this:

    Dynamic ip
    ---------------

    Host Name:___________
Use Unicasting: [] (compatibility for some DHCP Servers)
    Primary DNS Server :__________
    Secondary DNS Server :__________
    MTU : (bytes) MTU default = 1500

now what is host name?? do any one have any idea about it, and what about the dns server ip?? please help me out!! thank you!

    Strange but good question...

when you go up with a dnip, the ip keeps on changing..

how so the hostname is unique and doesnt change to the extent of an ip( it changes every time you log in)
    your hostname will be
    1. if yoiu are using service like no-ip , than its
    2. your broadband wala's (bcoz if you go into adv connections, the dual hostame theory applies too. this means that one of your servers-i.e either the client aka broadband wala host or the software wala host is actually partnering with the other, vice versa...

but you must not logg on with dual theory as it will not be beneficiary

    so work on it
and i think you can go with the software's own hostname...
    tell me if you understood..

i am still confused with the questio nyou asked..but tried anywayz//

    Default

U dont have to enter any modem-ip in case of dynamic ip. They will be taken care of automatically by the DHCP server. U may however specify DNS servers according to ur need (DNS servers translate the web page address into ip address). Use OpenDNS for better results. Google OpenDNS and go to their site, everything is explained there.

I am not familiar with ur modem, but generally host-name means the name of ur pc ( u had chosen it during OS installation). To find it ............. right click on MY COMPUTER > PROPERTIES > COMPUTER NAME > FULL COMPUTER NAME.
