Wireline connection is always better than a wireless connection anyday. Also the QOS of the ISPs vary in between the streets in India. I would think twice before switching to a wireless connection..

If u can get a decent wired connection in your area which is directly serviced by the Co., (not the cable guy connection thing), always go for it rather than wireless Connection.
Wireless has certain inherrent problems like variable signal strength, interference on line of sight, interference due to weather, animal/birds interfering with your wireless equipments.

Default Reliance Wimax or Broadband Depends on Your Usage

Depending on what you are going to do with internet connection on a regular basis, you should decide which one to go with. I think either of the connections are good for general usage. For games like counterstrike as nilaynashikkar points out, wireless will not be good.

But if your interest is in downloading without bothering about synchronization, watching movies or pictures, Wimax should be better.

I personally use Wimax only and am very much satisfied with Reliance Wimax of 300kbps. In other words the speed is on average 40KB/s. If you are getting just 100kbps or 12.5KB/s from Wimax, then you have a problem. If you are getting 100KB/s, I cannot just believe it. That is hard to get.

Anyway I don't know what I will do with that much speed. But I have concluded that if your reliance tower is within 50 meters distance of your antenna, then you will always get as good speed as 300kbps as they have promised. Even for 80 more meters of distance the speed is consistent as friends had just that and had great speed.

Just be patient when dealing with Reliance. Don't break anything in angry (even relations with customer care). Be patient, think wise and you will get the most use out of it!
