Rep Power: 10 | Havent used vonage but stanaphone soft phones work very well in India as my parents still use it. I dont see any reason why it wont work in India using a reliance connection. I have seen some posts on the vonage forum where people have tried and tested the vonage idea in India and it worked ok as per them. Did you know vonage is very costly as compared to some other voip service providers for example stanaphone. If you looking at thier unlimited north america plan then go for it |

| I have used vonage with Airtel connection. 512 kbps connection with 1:4 ration. The conversation is very cool, with almost no latency. |

Rep Power: 0 | Hi Admin, I tried to configure stanaphone with broadband and it worked well. However a faced the problem of keeping the broadband connection ON. It needs computer ON to enter userid and password and really looses meaning of VoIP phone without computer. Do you have any idea how I can bypass this? Thanks, Vikram. |

Rep Power: 10 | I dont use stanaphone anymore.I have moved on to skype and dont use it on the computer. I have wifi at home and keep my wifi on so that way I use skype using my phone now without having to turn the computer on. It even works on gprs when away from home but quality is not that great. But in UK it rocks and I hardly ever make any phone calls using gsm anymore as the 3g connection is fast enough to carry voip. I am not a master of voip but I think if you buy a voip phone (hard phone) you can configure it to connect directly through your router or modem without having to keep your PC on all the time. |

Rep Power: 0 | Thanks for your response. Looks like I missed the main question. I assume you are using Reliance broadband. How do you manage to keep yur connection always ON without logging in every 6 hrs or so ? I need to log in using my userid and password on their porta to get connected. Is this something that can be done using inksys Wireless Router? Thanks, Vikram. |
