    Default A very complex problem of Lan cable!!

    Hi,

    I have very complex problem, as I think so.

    Till last 2nd last Monday 18 January 2010, my Laptop (HP Presario V3000, Vista Home Basic) with Reliance Broadband (Wimax connection, 600 kbps/unlimited) was working fine.

    I got some virus on same day. Next two days wasted to clean virus. Then I decided to reinstall Vista. After reinstall Virus disapears. But also my Laptop not detecting my lan cable (no blinking, cable unplugged, no network at all). I assumed my lan cable port (RJ45 port) is not working properly after OS reinstall.

    I also have a desktop PC with Windows XP, and the same Reliance cable is working fine.

    I also have Tata Photon+ , which I am using in Laptop USB and working fine. I love Tata Photon+ when it gives me supersonic speed, but hate sometimes when it sucks (this time I miss my Reliance Broadband, atleast it gives me constant speed). And Tata Photon+ is working fine with my Laptop after reinstall.

    Now, the problem is so complex because, the same RJ45 port (lan cable, not USB) is working fine with YOU Telecom and Tata WiFi (as I have tested on friends home with my Laptop). It means my RJ45 port (lan cable port of Laptop) is fine. Then where is the problem? Why my Laptop is not detecting Reliance cable?

    Maybe the Wire has the issue... try reconnecting to the Notebook.

    PROBLEM : cable RJ45 suspect with Reliance ISP ONLY( Modem ??)
    With Reliance ISPconnected with RJ45 ( suspectcable) to lan port of Laptop

    1.
    Post ipconfig /all data
    2.
    Give the modemrouter/model/make/number.
    3.
    YouTelecom No modem needed , i think.
    same Rj45 goes to laptop. Cable OK

    4. What is the report in Diagnostics page of your modem/router?
    5. Use "Dialer" mode or "Always on " PPPoE mode ?
