Default Less Speed in Reliance 1MBPS Plan

    Hi All,

I took a reliance 1 MBPS plan. previously i was using 300kbps plan and speed was quite decent. I was getting arond 35-40 KB download speed.
In the new 1 MBPS plan i am getting download speed of around 90-100 KB /s.
on the reliance web site speed test its showing speed of 790-815 kbps.
Any one else also facing same problem? I registered ,many complains but no action till now. There effort is not to solve the problem but they try to convince me that i should settle down with this much speed.
Please share ur experiences if any one else also is facing same issue.

I do not about reliance but i know that in 1 Mbps plans the maximum speed reached is about 112-118 KB/s.It cannot cross 128 KB/s.We do not get full speed as some speed is reserved for upload that is used for connect.

The problem might be the range or something....bcoz in our city lots of Reliance connection .... not wimax ....but lots of connection ...so there are lots of tower...

and I got 1228kbps ....zz...sry ...and abt the speed...145-150 kbps...
because while giving they told me they are giving 1mbps and the plan was shifted to 1228kbps ....

But now I am shifting to tikona soon...will wait for the month ...

Thumbs down Less speed in 1MBPS PLAN

    Hi priyan,

    My subscriber ID is-321803773166

I have registered so many complains up to this time that i don't remember all the complain numbers also. Around 9-10 complains i have registered till now. Some SR numbers are -SR-118781225, SR-118948503,SR-119021990.

Its totally use less to register complain. After registering complain they call me do some trouble shooting then they tell we are forwarding your complain to local team.
The local reliance team guy calls me from Bangalore and says "Sir in 1MBPS you will get only 800-850 kbps maximum speed rest all is copper loss"

I do not know how things work in reliance. I was using 300 kbps combo plan of reliance before and i was in need of more speed.Because migration is not possible from combo plan to 1MBPS plan so based on customer care suggestion i gave installation charges and got this new connection.

Priyan you only tell me in such a competitive market how can a service provider do like this to reliable customers who are using reliance services from years.

I have no option left now. I tried all the things and now i am going for Airtel 1MBPS connection from next month.

I must warn you that airtel has implemented fair use policy so that means if you download more than 25gb in 1mb plan your speed will be halved. POS plan it has become...

Hi I believe that you should calculate the downloading speed by dividing it by 8 to what ever speed plan you take e.g. for 150 kbps plan download speed is (150/8) = 18.75 kbps.

Default Less Speed in Reliance 1 MBPS

Yes i am calculating the speed properly.
Atleast Airtel is truthful they tell in advance all the things that fair usage policy is there.
In reliance they tell its 1 MBPS unlimited but they dont give it.
I tried my best to raise my concerns with reliance nod now feel like defeted.
I sent msg to priyan also but no help.

Hi priyan i am waiting for your reply.
I already raised my concerns with reliance several times but i am not in receipt of a proper answer/ Solution/Explanation.

If reliance is not able to give or dont want to give full speed in 1 MBPS then why they dont say it upfront.
We all in this forum are waiting for ur reply/clarification.

What can we do. Now its proved that reliance giving less speed in 1 MBPS . Reliance is only giving 750-850 kbps speed.

I struggled hard but no reply from reliance. Priyan also not responding.

    Moderators can you suggest something.

Reliance sites is showing in kilobits per sec
and in your pc u see kilo bytes per sec
    8 bit = 1 byte
    100KB = 800 kbits

    Dear abhikaushikin,
Don't worry the problem is your modem.for 1 mb plan they installed a white big size mode right?
please change the modem and use same old modem(300kb plans small size modem). The problem will solve.

I am faced the same problem before 3 month.First my connection was 300kb Rs.649plan.Then i took 2 Mb plan. They installed with new modem.but my speed was max 800kb/s.I registered several complaints like you.they said copper problem, other fellow said 800kb is the max speed in 2mb plan...!
I shouted several times.they don't know what is the real problem.
After 2 weeks i am just replaced with my old small modem.then the problem solved....!now i am getting above 2Mb speed regularly.

So again try with your old modem....

Go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test and check your speed but use Delhi or Chennai server for this purpose.

i tested my speed but the problem is that i tried downloading files from many sites. Microsoft , google and other sites. I will believe that speed only which i am actually getting. Registered number of complains but no action.
I think in 1 MBPS they give this much speed only.

The best way for checking your download speed is download a file from cnet server with Flashget (Download Accelerator) as this shows correct speed.

Well Reading All the Posts! I would like you to Suggest Somethings:

    1. Reliance are Surely Cheaters and Asking them for disconnection would surely be hitting a hammer on your legs. The Simple reason cause I have come across many Posts where People use to receive Bill,Legal Notices+Harassment even after the disconnection.

The disconnection would take no less than 2 months.

    2. On your Problem of Speed I would like to say that As per you speed tested in Reliance's Speed meter i.e., 790-815 Kbps You are getting what you have tested.

    815 KiloBits/sec = 102 Kilo Bytes/sec i.e., 102 KBPS

And you get as expected i.e., around 104 KBPS

I do not personally advice you to look for the speeds the people have mentioned here cause Internet Speed is dependent on many factors. Also migration to other Providers would cause nothing but more expenses for the Same thing.

I used to get around 60 KBPS for a 600 Kbps Connection. Also If you use torrent for Downloading you actual speed might be greatly lowered.

However, It's your Plan+Money! Go as you Wish

For Further Co Operation I'm always there.

    Regards,
    Vivek

I have applied for 1 Mbps plan for reliance.
I am a heavy downloader and gamer a but it seems that 1 Mbps plan is not good as I will get only 100 kbps of speed.
Is there any other better plan that I can go with to get a better speed?
    Advise.

Ya me too facing very low speed, Actually i have taken 3.1 Mbps speed and max download speed which i am getting is 126kbps only and that too for some days only. i have given complaint many times regarding this and not rectified in 6 months. Simply saying sorry for the inconvenience.
Even worst is, i have taken hour basis plan and when i connect the net, the timer will run but it will say no internet access, but time will always reduce.

So planned to change the provider.
Plz dont go and invest 2800rs for this scrap u wont get it back.

i just took a test at speed for reliance broadband + and i am getting 30 to 55 KB speed for 3.1 mbps connection all the time

i used mine friend computer and modem on his computer , and even ask him , he told thats the speed he is also getting from many months on any downloads.

so what is 3.1 mbps modem for , when one cant get 1 mbps speed also. just telling upto 3.1 mbps and giving really slow speed is no good .
