Smile Should I switch to Reliance or BSNL?

    Hi guys,

    My location : Bangalore.

I am confused a lot now..
I wanted to go for BSNL UL 1350 512 kbps !! But now Reliance has introduced amazing 1 mbps combo at 1099 rs and 1 mbps / 2mbps night at 1499 rs..

If anybody has benchmarking / details of the download speed, upload, uptime, quality of the packets of 1 mbps unlimited (Reliance 1099) .. Please do provide them... Do let me know if that is worth or if I should go for BSNL 1350!

    Thanks!

Ohh.... Do you have any idea of the billing cycle of theirs in postpaid?
When i called up customer service they said 'Sir, I have no idea! Please ask the billing department'.

Well when it comes to competition of bandwidth with reliance

    Bsnl always Wins
If you have promised 512kbps then you will get 101 percent speed
I personally never faced any issue of connectivity loss with bsnl if it is there our lineman always supported as a lot

Reliance has some connectivity issues and unlike bsnl you may or may not get the promised bandwidth

    So stay with bsnl

Bsnl sucks?Share the source of information please!
And as far as billing issues i think either it is bsnl or any other they will really piss you off

good joke.... i m using bsnl rite now... 750ul i get 24kBps(avg) download speed for torrents.... speed is nt constant... pages doesnt open quickly... did all the kinds of tricks to get optimum speed(TCP/dsn servers) not worth of money.... service is pathetic... i had used reliance for 2 years... tat time i had 300kbps unlimited for rs 799... i used to get 34kBps(avg) download for torrents... if i had any problem i used to call costumer care n it would be solved within an hour... service was superb... speed was constant... had to change my isp coz of shifting... for villages n towns bsnl is the best... but for cities other isp providers have better service n plans than bsnl... by my experience reliance is 100% better than bsnl...

I agree with Sanjeev_Man and gallant too.. BSNL gives the speed as they promised in city areas. But their DNS services are bad. And even the value for money is just bad. And as gallant said, I have used Reliance before 2 years. That is 300 kbps for 1099 rs. I used to get a constant download speed of 30 - 35 kbps.. So now lets come to the matter. .

512kbps BSNL overall comes upto Rs.1600+ with modem / tax / etc..
1 Mbps Reliance overall comes upto Rs.1200+ with taxes..

But i think BSNL should provide 1 mbps unlimited instead of 512kbps..
You could get the same plan in airtel i.e 2 mbps at 1699 rs nw!! (But unfortunately i dont hav airtel in my area).

Still I am not sure which to switch to?

BSNL is very reliable that way. I have never faced problems with them. Their billing is also quite up to the mark. But I am talking from the Pune point of view.

Reliance may be good also but unfortunately it is not available everywhere. One thing very bad about Reliance is that their billing/accounts department is totally unconnected with the front office customer care. You will find many complaints on this front.

BSNL is sarkaari karobaar which sometimes means red tape. But I have never faced the red tape really. A bad thing about BSNL is that for any billing/plan change, etc. you need to visit the exchange. But the good thing is also that your exchange is likely to be no more than 3 km away at most. Whereas in case of Reliance (or any other ISP for that matter), the billing center may not be in your town at all.

I have grown to trust BSNL because BSNL works for me. I had UL900+ plan at the start. It became UL 750+. I used to get the 240 kbps as against the promised 256 kbps. I have shifted to Home 500C+ and as against the promised speed of 256 kbps ~ 2 mbps, I get 1.7 mbps 99% of the times. I do not download movies or music; so I am fine with the limits too.

My final advice: stick with your ISP; shift to someone else only in case of issues.

    Some cliché's:

At this moment, I am working on Reliance Netconnect+ which is supposed to give me 3.1 mbps. It is a Sunday afternoon when network is not really busy. This is my speedtest result:

And here is the BSNL result:

See the result how reliance network strong is in broadband section,
Yes because today it is sunday,At the present, there must be less internet traffic and still just4kix is not even getting 2mbps,instead it is the half of 3.1Mbps

Well. Netconnect+ is wireless broadband - so must give them some leeway too. But I rarely find this device giving me more than 2 mbps. Initially, it used to give me 2.4 mbps but not these days.

No. I am answerable to the office. They get the full detailed report on the usage.

I use the connection mainly for office work (Outlook, VOIP calling, etc.) and general surfing. No software downloads.

Bsnl is better option. Reliance is expensive. From some recent days Bsnl is disconnecting very much in our place. Maybe because of some cable breakage. But most of times they are up. I can rely totally on them. Their Billing is almost clear. Exchange is not far from my house. So it helps most of the times of problem. Recently i tried reliances but though it was speedier as said but too expensive.
Site from home gaya bhad mein... AIrtel se bolo FUP band kare.. BSNl se bolo 3G signal do!!!!>: (

I can go with BSNL! But I am jealous coz providers have 1 mbps for 1000 - 1100 rs .. and BSNL with half speed and higher price that is 1600 with taxes..

BSNL is way expensive... Only for that reason i am not able to choose it... I can trust reliance cause i used prepaid connection before 3 years. Where 300 kbps it was showing me upto 334 - 350 kbps in speedtest.net ...By the way, I have to pay monthly modem rental for BSNL ..

I am taking a wired connection... I will never ever take a wireless connection again...
