Default Does Reliance give Wifi or non-Wifi routers?

Registering for a new Reliance BB connection today after unsuccessful attempts at getting my BSNL BB/phone phone fixed.

The sales guy told me that Reliance used to give Wifi routers earlier but now they are giving non-Wifi routers only... and thats what I'll get. I told them I need a router with Wifi and ethernet connectivity both, else I won't go for the connection. He said he will try and get me the same.

Could users please tell me what type (and brand) of routers they have received from Reliance? Aren't there any options, like BSNL?

Any other tips/advice would be welcome.

Warning: Don't hand over your cheque; if you do, the Sales person will magically disappear into thin air!

Reliance doesn't give a damn about Internet connection sharing (ICS). Hence, they don't provide Wireless routers.

Apart from that, implementing the ICS with your own Wireless router is a pain in the ass because of their login system which is based on your Computer's MAC address.

Sorry about the late response... my post got approved after so long, I thought its won't appear...

Well, the next day I was told that they will be unable to provide a Wifi router. In fact they currently won't be able to provide a connection at all, in my building.... at least not this month, if at all. Don't know why they have to tell me all this after making me complete all the formalities.

After that, I applied for Airtel, and they too told me that they will not be able to provide a connection. The process seemed more professional, with someone calling me the very next day to confirm the address and telling me they will inform me about feasibility within 24 hours. The next day I receive an SMS informing me about their inability to provide a connection.

So I'm still stuck with BSNL which after years of reliable service, isn't working well at all, supposedly due to cable faults on the roads.

One of the good things about Reliance BB is that they do not ask for any money upfront. I was told that even the installation charges of Rs. 500 will be added to the first bill. So I had to pay nothing up-front.

You may use Airtel for ICS as freely as you can use the BSNL connection. No strings attached.

    Thanks... good to hear that.

Really hope they can provide a connection at my place sometime soon, if at all. Really fed up of BSNL and its problems.

Ask Reliance , whether they can provide
wifi operation for your laptop. If not, check old threads here.
Use search term " reliance WIFI connection " in box above !!!!
