Rep Power: 2 | Hi, I agree with you totally on Reliance Customer care....they are a bunch of idiots, who dont know what they are doing there.....anyway thats another story Refer to my earlier post on how to configure the wi-fi router. In essence its simple. 1. First start your modem. wait for it to boot completely. 2. Connect your modem out cable to the WAN port on your router. 3. Congfigure your router -> Enter the DNS IP's, select option to get IP automatically 4. Connect your laptop/PC to your router and you are on. cheers. |

Rep Power: 0 | oK! i connected my router via a cable to the laptop, configured it and put in th dns and all!! all done but still it doesnt get an IP!?? I mean my internet doesnt connect!! At the same time if i connect my laptop directly without the wii router, it connects immediately, which means the net is UP and running! Cant really understand why it isnt connection via the router |

Rep Power: 10 | Have you configured the routers dns correctly? Have you configured the laptops dns to auto? And I hope you are not trying to connect using the routers user name and pass option... with reliance you still have to use the log in client from your PC.

Rep Power: 2 | Hmmm...Can you post the exact steps that you followed ? Also when you are connected to the router, can you do ipconfig /all on your command prompt and post what you are getting there ? You said earlier that your connection worked once or twice before, so either your configuration is now wrong or your router has stopped working/has problems or reliance has started to block your router. You have to eliminate the first 2 possibilities before concluding the 3rd :-) I am writing this, connected by wi-fi. It still works :-) cheers. |
