Lightbulb Reliance Loophole | Share Internet connection and double the speed

Today, I'm going to reveal a secret which I have just found. I call all the Reliance broadband users to test it and feedback. It will help to determine if I'm the only one benefiting from this rather unusual co-incidence. Yes, my Reliance broadband connection is being shared among two Computers without using any Wireless routers. Also, the best part is that the speed has doubled from 1 Mbps to 2 Mbps. To cut the crap, I'll directly come down to the point and explain the way I've achieved it!

    My Reliance Broadband plan:

Rs. 750 UNLIMITED where it's 1 Mbps from 10 PM to 8 AM and 600 Kbps other times.

    Hardware configuration required:
    • Two Computers; each having one LAN Card.
    • The Reliance modem which is shipped with two RJ-45 Jacks.
    • Two LAN cables connecting each PC to the modem.

    Steps:
    1. Open the Firefox (I've tried it only in the Firefox browser) in both the Computers.
    2. Browse to the Reliance login page.
    3. Enter your Username and Password in both the browsers.
    4. Finally, (may be this is important) click on the Login buttons in both the Computers simultaneously.
    5. If it doesn't login in any of them, repeat the steps.

Voila! It should work. I've tested it twice and both times I've succeeded. I'm enjoying 100+ kbps download in torrents on both the Computers, i.e., 200+ kbps in total.

P.S.: If it doesn't work for you, please spare me from the rotten eggs and tomatoes.

The specifications mentioned above are the minimum Hardware requirements. However, you may overcome this by adding a switch or router.

Else you may ask reliance customer care to provide you the modem with 2 RJ-45 Jacks. First, option is easier. Latter option is free.

its an old skool trick which i tried 2 years back i punched same id on wimax and wireline!! and same ID is working on both connections kudos to Reliance undoubtedly the best in India.

now i have two ids 1wimax 1.2 MbPS and 1 wireline combo 1MbPS so i barely use this trick but for those who have one id and 2 computers they can benefit it by using alligator method.

    yes this trick works 100%

You have already created a thread in this regard. Please wait till few experts wake up to answer it.

I don't want to sound rude, but hijacking threads is a bad practice on the forums. It pisses me and others.

P.S.: I can answer your question and PMs. However, I'm in a mood to watch a movie now. Welcome to the world of forums. Have patience.

Tip: If you are in a hurry, use the Search box at the top of this page with your keywords. This forum is a holy-grail. Digg it!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad that now Reliance users with one ID can share their connection among two Computers with double speed. It will be helpful for maintaining the ratio on Private trackers.

After one week of your comment, I'm still able to share the connection and double the speed. Maybe some problem with your line.

no i dont think so..you benefit with 2 computers because you are creating 2 different sessions of the same account...each of their computer is getting 1 mbps..hence 2 computers = 2 mbps

now i wonder if it would work with 3 or more compuers??

well reliance has throttled port speeds in pune accroading to the plan.....plan 749 port speeds are limited to 1mbps....my plan is 1499 my port is limited to 2 mbps....though now i can enjoy 2 mbps unlimited......which was day 1mbps and night 2 mbps earlier....i use dual login only in day...it works.....in day....in night speed is limited to 2 mbps it doesnt get doubled as 4 mbps......well still i will say though pathetic customer service and....only 70% of promised speed i am enjoying around 1.5 mbps allday unlimited with no fup in rs 1500...which is quite good....compared to airtel or tata......i hope reliance improve their customer care and give dedicated 100% speeds in future....bye all take carez

countries like singapore and hong kong has 15 mbps unlimited net with no fup @ rs 2000 pm.....we cant even get 1.5 mbps unlimited with no fup...even at rs 2000 p.m..very sad......there are only 9 undersea mainline in india....where singapore alone has 24@ tbps lines

    Hi Rcom,

I have just recently gotten a reliance wireline b'band connection - current plan is Rs749, but am switching to Rs1499 plan in 2 days. My setup is as follows: 1 port Billion modem connected to Netgear wgr614 router. Currently I have 2 laptops connected to internet all the time. I tried to login simultaneously to double my bandwith, but with no success. Could you please instruct me if I need any additional equipment in the setup to successfuly double the bandwith?

Your help will be very much appreciated
    Thanks

It may not work as your router is acting like a single Computer. Better you request Reliance to provide you the two ports modem and connect your Laptops through them.

You may try connecting one laptop through the RJ-45 port of the router and other laptop through wireless. Keep the hit and trial process going on.

Maybe jeet_srimani can help you out. That's because he succeeded to share the connection and double the speed through the Wireless router during the day time and he confirmed it to me in a PM. Refer the post above yours.

Whatever you do, please feedback here to get more help and help others.

We can't confirm it unless more users test this procedure and feedback here.

Hey itsmemad, Thanks for the reply. Well reliance is driving me crazy: the sales guy told me my Rs 749 plan would be updated to Rs 1499 plan, but reliance instead updated to the rs1099 combo plan!!

Anyways, here's my experience with two simultaneous logins:

I had a BSNL provided ITI DNA modem lying (has 4 ports) around the house. I configured it and made it work with reliance.

With the Rs 749 plan (600kbps day 1mbps night) I was getting about 1mbps during the day with simultaneous logins (so your trick worked!!); but during the night the speed did not double (stayed at 1mbps).

With Rs 1099 plan the speed did not double with simultaneous logins, and stayed at max of 1mbps.

So, to sum up, I think that Reliance does introduce throttle limits on different plans. In the rs749 plan the limit seems to be 1mbps, on rs1099 plan also the limit seems to be 1mbps.

I will have the Rs1499 plan activated soon, and I'll surely post my experience with it.

well thats right bro, in your bill itself u can see the port speed....for 1099 its 1mbps port speed so u cant double the speed, however if u take 1499 u can double the speed during day.....with dual login....well if u want help for configuring your wifi router for dual login with dual ip please leave me a pm...i will reply.......and ya i experienced same with reliance sales person he told me plan would upgrade to 1499 but it didnt i had to take a new connection...so ask the salesman for a rs 500 refund or make complaint against that sales person....in cc....by the way where are you from tydeus?
