well thanks to Reliance Fiber Link Connectivity which is top of the line in India and if you get speeds like that then its not a miracle! its the network of Reliance which is capable of carrying that kind of speeds! kudos to reliance

YOU mean to say that you want such a "By chance" mistake to be repeated by reliance daily??

When i got Metro Ethernet wireline i received 10-11MbPS speed for 23 hours and too on a pony 75KbPS plan!! they have humongous bandwidth on tap but still there high speeds plans are not in everybody reach and you can expect heavy rain of bandwidth in Reliance too often.

Unlike ADSL which comes via single pair copper wire and goes in modem then to your computer Metro Ethernet comes via Optic Fiber Link, whole Metro Ethernet is run by Cisco ME 3400 switches which are connected in ring the benefit of is that you get constant speed and low latency all day long and you don't need a dedicated modem on Metro Ethernet just pop the wire in your pc and go!! no need to configure anything!

Cisco ME3400 each cost Rs 1,30,000 and we have 12 of those in our area.

Reliance Broadband plans varies on provided network

On Metro Ethernet max speed they provide is 20MbPS
On ADSL max speed they provide is 4MbPS
last but not least on WIMAX max speed they provide is 2MbPS

so if you want Reliance 20MbPS plan you need to have Metro Ethernet in your area because ADSL & WIMAX are not capable of carrying such speeds.

    hope this clears you doubt.

dude these types of devices can carry 250MbPS+ speed like piece of cake and we can compete with US also but it solely depends upon Reliance whether they want to hike the bandwidth or not but we can rest assure that someone in India have that kind of stuff that is scalable of reaching international standards, right now they are giving 20MbPS MAX on Fiber Link but reliance wont ever give 10MbPS as UL plan,

and someone who want to experience that kind of speeds then he can opt for 10MbPS plan which has cap of 10GB(90 paisa/MB) in rs 2599 ex taxes and in same rs 2599 you can use 20MbPS(50 paisa/MB ) plan with cap of 20GB!

    Thumbs down Re:

well all limited data connections are gross....in europe, us, australia, middle-east, singapore no where there is any limited connection......what the meaning of 10mbps if the limit is only 20 gb....which can be consumed in one day with such speeds.............limited connections are gross and not acceptable anywhere in world except 3rd world countries like us india-pak-africa lols

India often boasts of following UK.....EPL=IPL British Moral policing = Indian moral policing
I wish they wud follow them technology wise too.
Especially Virgin Media where internet is concerned.
Cheap rates and amazing speed with unlimited DL's

Whereas in the US WB's internet connections seem to be amazing(Like road runner) but off recently they have introduced caps as well.

ethernet uses rj45 jack which uses max 1gbps speed...usually it is used to connecnt your pc with your router, modem or switch......it connects rj45 jack to ur ethernet slot on ur pc that comes default with motherboards or pc or lappys now a days...

dsl means Digital Subscriber Line...which has a bandwidth range of usually 8-10 mbps it comes throught copper wire like telephone line does.....and end user usually receives the connection via a dsl modem which has copper telephone wire input from isp and out put of ethernet rj45 cable to user pc, dsl usually has 1:1 download:upload speed which is costly for isps to provide so in india isps has choosen cheaper version of dsl which is adsl (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) which has lower upload speed than download

metro ethernet is a service from reliance broadband where they dont use any copper wire or modem....but directly supply suscriber a ethernet cable connection which connects in his pc from reliance switches...these are very high speed connection offering speeds 10-20 mbps in selected areas...and this facility perhaps..has capacity to provides speed upto 250 mbps to end user...as there is no copper wire or copper loss direct switch to user...connection....and for field connection to the switches they use their fibre optical network which are very high speed gbps network

i hope this helps u understand.....about dsl ethernet and metro ethernet by reliance broadband.....for more knowledge please google yourself....

Rather than mode of connectivity ISP internet backbone is most important,in case of Reliance they own and manage their own Flag undersea cables so if you are on reliance your data will go through it without any routing etc and in result you get low latency and constant speeds 24X7,small fries like hathway and others borrow bandwidth from large players, hathway and sify can also use Optic fiber devices but if they don't have bandwidth support from back then it will not bring any wonders.
