    Default Reliance broadband net connection

Hey guys, I'm fed up with my net connection and have decided to go for reliance broadband.

The problem is that i don't know of any specific plans, but there this plan which gives around 300 or 600 kbps for around Rs.799/- (approx.) .....unlimited usage and no FUP.

    few queries :

300 or 600 kbps is the download speed??.....if not, then what will be the download speed that I'll get?

    Installation charges?

Can someone let me know the exact plan, and how should i proceed to get that specific connection.

    Thanks,
    Regards.

I am on 600kbps unlimited plan. There is no FUP.
I am connected through a wifi router in my home and my pc is about 15 feet away from the router. May get slightly better result using a cable.

Tested at speedtest.net. Got the followinf result
    Download: 0.74Mbps
    Upload: 0.65Mbps
    Ping: 92ms

    1.
    mention your modem model/make/number.
    2.
see the link/s below and try to give some technical feedback.
Take the modem to BSNL nearest Exchange and get it tested by JTO
(BB). If you had no BB connection rental should not be charged.
have you made a complaint in writing and got a ref number ?
    3
or send an email to denibchn@dataone.in
giving details of your exchange/ etc.
    4.
When you get Relaince ensure that , in case you need to use a laptop in any place in your location, they allow/provide Wifi mode.
    5. feedback item wise.

My advice:Test reliance network connectivity before you Go for Reliance Broadbnet
And if the connectivity is found unavailable or incomplete, then please STICK to Dataone or last option is Airtel
The download speed you will get is 75KB/S in day time and 128KB/S in night time, and that's a Combo plan, you will require landline for that!

And i agree with essbebe,do make sure that you have wireless router for use with reliance broadband in laptop!

    Question

Hey guys, How do i apply ???

I filled up the feedback form at rcom.co.in, mentioning that i want to apply.

    Its been 3 days...no reply.

    What should i do?

P.S. - They mention download speed - 600kbps!....but thats not what we get right?
    0.74mbps means 74kbps right?

Call the reliance customer care at 30337777 or 1800 3000 7777 (Toll Free) and insist that you want a new connection immediately. There customer care is poor. You may have to call daily for them to act.

Yes, you'll get that speed when downloading directly from websites. In torrents, the speed may fluctuate around 65 kbps.

However, if you are applying for Rs. 749 connection, you will get 100 kbps + download and upload speed between 10 PM and 8 AM.

Only taxes will be added to Rs. 749. Apart from that, you'l get free 50 calls.

No it's 600 Kbps that you get, and how come it's 749 in your area? The same plan costs 649 plus taxes over here. Checkout the speed

where are you from???....I'm from Mumbai, Andheri.

Do you get the same speed while downloading???
and how come it's 749 in your area?
    749 is night booster plan(i.e. 1 mbps at night)....and 649 is 600kbps only

Anyways......my area is not "FEASIBLE", they were offering wimax connection for 1500 pm...thats too much for me.

    Any recommendations for me??

Bandra, Mumbai..only thing possible is to band together as many users as to make it profitable enough for them to lay a cable in your area.

Do you get the same speed while downloading???
Didn't you look at my speed test screenshot?

Yea.....the tata guys had said to band up 20 connections!

    This feasible thing sucks!

Reliance and tata are one of India's Largest companies!...and yet they can't give away net connections in a city like mumbai!

*Sigh* looks like I'll have to wait till i earn more to afford wireless net or wait till this country develops!.

I think Tata, Airtel and Reliance have some kind of tacit understanding between themselves, and that they have divided the city into exclusive territories, each not venturing into the other's. Before i got the Reliance connection i tried a lot for Tata but got a "sorry, your area is not feasible" from them each time. I am better off though, for it. If Tata has refused, maybe one of the other two options will be open for you.

Whatever you do, don't be hasty and get a net9oline/Hathway/Sify/incable, etc. connection. The guys are crooks, they divide the bandwidth meant for one person among three users, you will never get the speed they promise and your Net will down half the time. Net9online had installed their dabba on my terrace, once when my net was down for 15 days on end, and they began cutting me off when i called them, i ripped it out and deposited it in the landlords office. Still chuckle when i remember the look on the goon's faces. Made them return my money before i returned it to them. The landlord made them take down all their cables and lines.

Edit: Call Arun Dube (sales rep, Reliance) 9323861765 and talk to him about a connection. Ask him how many possible users would be required minimally for them to be interested.

Hmmm...yea...looks like i have to opt for airtel...but they have FUP!

and all their plans are limited till certain amount of download.

    For e.g. - 899 plan, 512 Kbps till 8 GB, 256 kbps beyond 8 GB

what will be the download speed??512kbps and 256 kbps???....if yes then 8gb will be over in half a day!
But still 256kbps d/l speed is also pretty good.

Reliance sounds like a good option.
Can you please tell me how to get this broadband connection?
I am a foreigner in Chenna market, Karol Bagh, Delhi. I went to Airtel office and applied for wifi, soon one sales guy called mr tara came over to my place and i paid the installation fee. This was 10 days ago, and now i was told that my area is not capable of more connection and my money is refundable in 15 days! as per company policies!
This is driving me crazy. Why couldn't they first check the availability before taking my money and photo and documents?? that was my only photo.

Anyone knows how to get this Reliance broadband please feel free to call me at 8800685658.

If you read all the posts in this thread, you will be sure to find the details and how-tos, including phone numbers and email addresses. Sorry, Reliance customer care would have much more polite and helpful, i just don't like to repeat the obvious.
