Thread: Reliance Broadband+ in Thakur Village

I purchased the reliance netconnect broadband+ and activated it yesterday. Since then I have not got speed beyond 244kbps during day and until midnight.

I am earlier on Hybrid by default then after googling, good an idea to set the setting to Broadband+. Situation remains same. I am now forced to pay for 1x speed monthly which I do not like as I my idea was show kids cartoon on youtube. Earlier I was using the wirelined from Tata Indicom Broadband so, now I will go back there.

Since reliance Customer care says no refund policy and u can disconnect if u like or convert to prepaid. May be 2nd option is best as use it on the move around the city or national but a catch should not be there that u need to keep recharging within the expiry of previous one. Did not find such clause but since Govt, TRAI and DOT has sucked them so RCOM will in return suck it subscriber

If there is such hidden policy on prepaid, i will post here

It's not reliance fault. It's tower fault or perhaps building are such that signals are received weak. and only boosters can help. Reliance being a cash strapped company will not do that and leave all towers as it is. Sorry to say, being with the leaders like Airtel sometimes help.

I went for reliance as my friend from Dahisar east on a highway building near checknaka reported same problem against Tata Indicom Photon +. It's a technical problem but yes, it is very much in Mumbai Suburbs.

I stay in Evershine Thakur Village Kandivali east mumbai a posh highly populated newly developed area. Any new buyers of reliance broadband + in Thakur village must be aware of speed issues and u can see around that there are hardly any towers in this area except for one at Thakur public school. Who knows if it belongs to RCOM or Tata or Airtel .

Yaa, one input I got from RCOM networking guys telecom operators tower are fully busy so speed u get is less than 256kbps. Also, since I was tensed, so did not sleep well and I got 3.4Mpbs consistently at 4am.

So, problem is technical in nature, tower boosters are running to full capacity during day and until midnight hence, speed is major issue. any reliance network guy if listening.. pls improve the network capacity in thakur village residential including Suncity by adding boosters. Samta Nagar or Thakur Complex booster and tower are too far.

Therefore, new buyers please call the Mr X from Reliance if U intend to buy for demonstration during day time. Ask him to connect at Hybrid and Broadband+ for atleast 15 min. Observe the speed using Youtube. If it's good then go for it else u will be depressed and will have to run around them to close the postpaid connection. Definitely u cannot consume 10GB at 155kbps

After 2 months of trial , it is as pathetic as thought of. Transferred myself to prepaid for use during travelling else no major use. I started getting less than 140kbs during night and around 78kbps during day. nothing can be so bad getting to old age on newer technology

Back to Tata indicom wired one. Atleast I get a speed.

Reliance must improve boosters and antennas across thakur village, no other option. I tried some home made antennas too but no major improvement.

What you think installing a BTS a.k.a cell site in village is cheap? its plain and simple in wireless if you are away from BTS then forget about speed and they just cant boost the spectrum i've seen lots of user who cry about low speeds and their EVDO working on shitty 144x mode! but problem is number of BTS sites come to Delhi we have reliance BTS at every 1.5 KM!! & BTW one is located at my home

he doesnt live in a village rcom thakur village is an upmarket locality located in kandivali a suburb in mumbai if they cant provide service in mumbai cant even think about villages and if installing bts isnt cheap why the hell do they provide service if they cant afford it
