Thread: Speed Select option in 1Mbps unlimited plan ??????? WTF ?

Hello friends

I think i will go crazy in search of a good broadband connection.

Yesterday i got a new reliance broadband connection and the plan is 1Mbps unlimited. They charged me Rs.1050 for that.

Now the big headache is the online login system. It redirect me to reliancebroadband.co.in website, which is super slow.

After entering my user id and password i have to select from 4 speed options EVERY time !

100 kbps (default)
1024 kbps
*** kbps
*** kbps

WTF is this ??? Why did they put this speed select option in unlimited plan ?
Of course i want the maximum speed which is 1mbps.
Why they make me to choose the speed every time ?

I checked on reliance plans and found that "speed select" plans are not unlimited !!

Now i think that i've been cheated by my local provider.
whats going on..could anyone explain this please ?

Its plain and simple you have been allocated a "Online Speed Select Plan" in this you will be charged on hourly basis and BTW look at their prices




i suggest you to change your plan asap otherwise they will RIP YOU OFF!

I told them that "Speed Select' plans are separate and these plans are not unlimited...

BUT they are insisting that i have 1mbps Unlimited plan and speed selection option is present in every plan !!!

Is that true ?? or they are lying to me ? I am totally confused

Speed select plans are indeed free from any data cap but you will be charged flat on hourly basis, for ex if you surf 1mbps for one hour then you will be billed 70 it doesn't matter you have downloaded 10MB or 300MB in that hour and there is no such option of selecting speed in Flat Fee plans i'm using 1.2MbPS on WImax and 1mbps on wireline if speed select thing was true then why i'm not getting it?

I got it now. These morons had given me the "PREPAID" plan with speed select option. It is not unlimited. But it has a twist in the tail..

They have their own account at reliance. From which they can give unlimited access to users. They charge me Rs.1000 every month for unlimited usage at 1mbps speed.

The only headache is the speed selection procedure. But it is okay with me now..

I'm on Day/Night 600kbps/1mbps combo plan. I have 2 options in "My plan" section. One is 1000 & other one is 600........1000??????
