Question Migrated from Airtel 2 Reliance

    Hi ALL,
I've changed my ISP from Airtel to Reliance. The ADSL Modem from Reliance is a BiPAC 5200s RF ADSL2+ Modem/Router with a Single Port. Am still in possesion of beetel 450TC1 ADSL2+ Router from Airtel!
    My Question is:
    1. Can I use the beetel 450TC1 ADSL2+ Router for my Reliance Connection?
    2. If it's possible then what are the Configurations that are required in the Router Settings!
    3. If it's not possible can I use the beetel 450TC1 ADSL2+ Router as a router alone by connecting it to BiPAC 5200s RF ADSL2+ Modem/Router?
    4. If it's possible then what are the Configurations that are required in the Router Settings!

I've read innumerable posts in this forum and am yet to get a solution!
A precise reply is much appreciated! Thanx

It's FINAL..You cannot connect the Reliance ADSL Wired Modem to any Routers. Unless Reliance changes the Web based Login Procedure to PPPoA or PPPoE based authentication.
I've tried quite a few workaround's (even Cloning my Laptop's MAC Address to the WRTG Router...with limited Success). If you have a single PC and dont have any plans to share your Internet Connection with other devices & happy to stay chained with your ADSL Modem with a CAT5 Cable, yes, U can retain your Reliance BB! If U R not a heavy Downloader & happy to stick onto your FB's, Orkut's, Emails etc..U R better off with Airtel...Yeah, It's a Choice between the Devil & the deep Blue Sea!
Oh...Forums are not confined to sharing tarriffs from Different regions & defintely not a place for retards doled out with Gold & Platinum ratings...though many a people had similar queries like mine in this forum there's not been a single resolute solution.
make use of google & if you think u gonna get a correct answer for your queries in this forum then think 'bout milton & think 'bout fools paradise!

Ignoring your intemperate language I will try as a "retard" in this forum to answer your queries.
1.Presume you are connected in "Bridged" mode with
    Reliance ADSL modem Bipac5200s
    sample screenshot:

    2.
Beetel450TCI menu pages ( excluding help), which in turn
is same as Utstar WA3002-G1 !!

    2. If you can access the menu pages of Billion modem, replicate same entries
    in Beetel unit. like VPI/VCI 0 and 35 DNS preferred 8.8.8.8 208.67.220.220
Or Reliance DNS shown in ipconfig /all
    3. Feedback about your efforts and result/s.

    @akn75

I understand your frustration and ultimately the disappointment in knowing that you will not be able to use your existing ADSL modem with Reliance BB.

There is no clear cut reason to explain why Reliance BB enforces a web-based login system. According to them, they are doing it for increasing the security levels.

However, if you think about it, you will realize that they are merely doing it to deter users from continuous downloading sessions. No one with a sane mind will spend hours in front of his or her PC watching over the progress of the downloads.

This luxury, you could have availed if you had stayed with Airtel or had opted for BSNL.

Not sure if you have your problem solved already, but it is possible to connect an ADSL modem+router to a reliance wired connection.

I am not sure if the frustrated guys above really looked at threads in the section carefully enough. I would not need to repeat the whole instructions but I certainly have pointers on connecting in my review here:
http://www.indiabroadband.net/relian...view-tips.html (Reliance Wired Broadband: review & tips)
I have a BSNL DNA-211I ADSL router connected to Reliance wired line and I don't think any other ADSL router will be any different.

I am assuming yours is a wired connection, and it is a telephone wire that plugs into your modem. A quick summary would be to remove the Reliance supplied modem and plug in the line into the ADSL router directly and update router settings. VPI/VCI 0/35, dynamic/MER mode and set up a LAN with or without DHCP.
A web based login has nothing to do with the connectivity.

@Glass - Is it possible to share Reliance ADSL to other PCs (in a LAN like arrangement)?

    Absolutely.

It is no different from any other ISP, except that you need to login from any one of the devices when you start up. From my ADSL router, I have a pc connected by LAN cable, a laptop connected by in-built wifi port, another pc connected by wireless USB dongle, one or two mobile phones connected by wifi - sometimes all at once, at my home.
