Default Difference between Reliance Broadnet and WiMAx in terms of speed

    Hi,

I have been looking for a new Internet connection since the 10gb limit in reliance just doesnt cut it anymore. I asked Airtel but they dont have feasibility in my area.

Then I asked Reliance. They told me 2 plans

1 Mbps unlimited - 1099 (only in combo)
    1Mbps day, 2mbps night - 1499 (only in broadnet)

These plans are supposedly for Broadnet. Wimax is different. I want to know the difference between Wimax and broadnet in terms of speed in Bangalore.

which is better? And recommended for heavy internet use?

Wimax From Reliance supports max 2MbPS download and 1.7 MbPS Upload, unless you are on pricey 2MbPS plan you wont feel any noticeable difference in speed whether you are on wire line or wimax,if wire-line is available then opt for it if not then take Wimax currently Reliance is best Wimax provider in India with max coverage and high upload rates when comparing to others.

But Wimax plans are darn pricey compared to Wireline

Yes I observed that. Reliance said they have feasibility in my area but they didnt tell me whether its ADSL or Metro Ethernet. Is it worthwhile taking ADSL for 1500 + tax.

Dude if you need 10MbPS or 20MbPS speed only then you are going to need Metro Ethernet because ADSL wont carry more than 2Mbps! you plan is 1MbPS day and 2MbPS night so using it on ADSL is worth every penny

Yes still, isnt metro Ethernet a better bet when the network might upgrade in the future.

Plus I dont need a modem at my home.
