Default Reliance if Cheating its customers

    Hi friends,

I stay in pUne and am using the Reliance Broadnet service 150 kbps plan (unlimeted version).
When i was contacted by the reliance sales person and was made aware of the various plans they had. I first decided to take the 75kbps unlimeted plan (costed Rs.400 per month). at that time the sales person was saying that i would certainly be getting the state 75kbps speed due to various reasons of they alocating more that 75kbps bandwidth to each customer. So i finalised to take the plan and gave them the 500 rs cheque as installation charges.
It took them more than a month to get the connection placed at my home with me regularly calling their sales team , then installation team.
After a lot of effort finally the connection was up and running after almost 1 1/2 month.
I found that the speed was pretty decent. I was getting a maximum speed of 72 kbps (9 KB/s)in midnight and almost 64 kbps(8 KB/s) in day time. I was pretty happy about it.
After observing this performance for 4 -5 days, i felt that if i take the 150 kbps plan my download speed should almost double i.e. it would have been almost 16 - 18 kbps.So i told reliance customer care to upgrade my plan to 150 kbps (Rs.750 per month).
That request got served the very next day.
But to my surprise i was not getting the 150 kbps speed at all. I was just getting a speed of 95 kbps maximum.
So i started complaining the customer care regarding this every day. They use to always tell me to send a ping and trace report to there mail address. This happened for almost 4 days. But the problem was not solved.
They i got feed up and asked told the customer care executive that i want to talk to some senior person over there. After one or 2 days they finally allowed me to talk with there senior person. Who told me that she would be forwarding my complaint to the network department on high priority.
After that finally some of their engineer contacted me and initially told me that there was some server problem so please bare with the low speed for another 2 days. I thought that it would be fine to wait for another 2 days if my problem would get solved.
But the problem still persisted after 2 days also. Then again i contacted the customer care and then they finally sent a engineer to my place to see what actually the problem was. When he came he saw that i was certainly getting the speed of 85 kbps using the reliance speedometer site.
Then he contacted his senior person, to inform him about this and then to mumbai office for solving the problem. But the lady in mumbai office was like there is not problem going on server side and that is (85 - 90 kbps) is the maximum speed that could be possible on this 150 kbps plan. I was shocked to know that they declaring that by talking a plan of 150 kbps plan i would be just getting a speed of 85 - 90 kbps.
Now they have declared that nothing can be done regarding this. They are like, BROADNET is not a leased line and so even if we say that the connection speed is 150 kbps, it does not mean you are assured of getting 150 kbps.
Even i do agree that i would not be getting the stated 150 kbps, but atleast a speed of 130 kbps and above should be there sometime during entire period of 15 days. But no i have never got a speed of anything above 95 kbps.
Don't you people feel that reliance if cheating us working in this style. I have posted this because i wanted the other people to know, what the facts are.
Also i have heard from reliance engineers and from few of the other people having reliance connection that they are not getting speeds. They are just getting the speed of 60 - 65 % of what their connection speed is.

Come on spread this message to all the people around you. We should force reliance to change their businees style by not opting for reliance connection.

this is the excellent trick of Reliance people that they will going to solve soon be patient. After when you contact that the problem is still exists they say that on that day the call is closed by providing information on the phone or blah blah so we are going to provide new complaint id.

i.e the complaint of earlier one is closed. Where as they did not solve. This same i observed two times when i got the problem for more than a week on the day one they call me and said some trouble shooting solutions it did not solved so they said someone will come, but no one turned up and iam keep calling customer care for a week and called the local guys who installed for me. on the last day when i called them they said we solved the problem on day one only. And they are lodging new complaint id.

Post no satisfaction with customer care service

hi,i m using reliance broadband wimax connection since october 2008 n i had a problem recently(technical) for i which i was unable to use my net....later the problem was solved by my personal technician...ok...but i got the bill again on 23rd of the january...as my net package is of unlimited...the amount can't be reduced to which i agree...but my objection is that why should i recieve bill on 23rd rather than recieving it after 15 days as i have not used the net for that time....and when i call customer care they just give me complaint numbers and say u will recieve a call in 24 hours n so but till date i haven't got any call from them.....

    Angry Legal notice from Reliance

I am chaitali chatterjee and am a student from bangalore.
I had taken reliance broadband before 1 year. The day the guy came and installed the connection it worked well for 2 days. But on the 3rd day I was not able to surf, cant send emails also. I called them but they did nt response till 1 week. later my frnd resolved the problem. after a day the same thing was happening and one fine evening there was some eletric shock coming from the cable. I called customer care and spoke wid some Lady supervisor and told her that I want 2 disconnect the connection since that electric shock has damaged my computer screen and LAN card... she told me okay and told that she will close my account. then I received a bill for that month as well as for the second month too. then I received a call from DELHI and I told her all the problem
she told me dat the account is still nt closed so she will close that.

Then after 6 months I get a LEGAL NOTICE asking me to pay the amont of Rs. 2400 and want me to pay within 7 days, failing that they will file a case of 420 under Jurusdiction.
I called customer care again and they told me that they have closed the case on this 15th, Jan, 09.

I dnt understand, when I have not used any thing, why should I pay and why is this Legal Notice for?

Please help me out with this situation, since I am a student and have no idea as to what to do?

    @ chaitali

u shudn't have lost touch with them during the successive weeks of your termination request. u shud go to the consumer court asap in my opinion...
this is totally wrong if you had filed the termination request at the time...in my case when i filed the request to terminate my connction, i called them up every 3rd day, i also put in an email to get a written confirmation of the request.

it will be better if u have either the termination request number or an email stating the same.

    all the best.
    DON'T beam me up, Scotty!

How will I know that they are so irresponsible?
And that to when I received a call from delhi stating that I do not have to pay anything and the case has been closed?

Any suggestions of the Legal Notice???

I would suggest that u present your case before the nodal officer and the Appellate authority of Reliance Broadnet. They should take a look at your problem and might help u solve it amiably. By the way i also used to have a Broadnet connection, which is lying in here unused. Lucky that it was a prepaid connection. Now am using the modem supplied with the connection with my BSNL connection

I had bad connections for about 5 months coz of their server maintainance and upgrades. But in the end, it did work out. I've had the (un)lucky privilage of not getting any decently priced unlimted connection in my area besides this, so I had no choice but to stick with it. In the long run, I found it's better than mtnl, and tata. I've built a good rapport with the feild engineer, so now, even when I DO have some problems, I don't have to make official complaints and wait for the paperwork to finish before he comes to look at my place. ^_^

Like i always mention in the forum, the QOS varies in between the streets in India. Your neighbor might be thinking that his ISP is the best, but u will be cursing the same ISP at the same time.

    Default Cheats at Reliance

Reliance - Lightning sale and then zero internet connection speed. No refunds either. I see that most posts are comparing or complaining about the speed of the connection. Well! Here's the latest I have achieved a speed of zero with Reliance Netconnect. I bought a new connection - it worked for 2 days and then without notice they just suspended my services due to some address verification crap. They completed that process the next day...but since the past two days mighty Reliance has not been able to re-activate my service because one of their tiny fanchisees, basically 1 person, is enjoying his weekend and has not updated them. Are we customers of Reliance or the franchisee? I am ready to throw the piece of garbage they've provided to connect to the internet. My advice to all considering buying Reliance broadband - DON'T!

Default Pay reliance whatever may be the case...

    Hi priyan!

I have the similar situation and I have decided to let the lagal person to go to the limit he can and assume they can't sentence me to death. The penalty thay can claim could be 1 lakh to 10 lakh. And I am going to file a case against reliance by hiring a lawyer for specifically this purpose and will spend the amount they will claim on me on the internet review posting and media advertisements against beauties of reliance.
As I never got the bill of reliance data card, and I use to call one of my friend to know my bill and deposit my bill. I have stopped using the data card and requested the customer care to disconnect my data card, however, I still receiving the love letter...
Nice to see your perosonal interest in solving peoples problem...

Default reliance customers dont even rate it equal to condoms

Reliance before giving connection claims that wires, modem and phone are the free facilities which they are providing with their connection, but they charge for all the stuff when u disconnect their service that too even with double prices.. so be careful with this guys. Reliance telecom network is not no.1 at all which they claims, in fact it is no 1 from the bottom. It is almost impossible sometimes to check our balance for so many hours, then calling someone on a std no is too much to be asked from reliance. Suppose what use to happens, when we have to make urgent call or to get very important information, but reliance network is showing not available or call failed whereas everything is ok with other networks. Actually, reliance network is nothing compared to airtel or hutch networks. Even now people are facing problems with reliance big tv. So its better that one should not use reliance products, if anyone does, i m sure that person is not going to take another reliance product ever in his life. If anyone offers me a reliance product at the price of condom(i.e.Rs 10 per piece),even then I m not going to buy reliance products, because its not only the monetary factor that a person has to suffer with reliance, but also it gives lots of psychological pain.
