Mention the model/make/number of reliance supplied modem ?
Try in WAN page of Beetel450BX1 "BER" instead of 'Bridging' or PPPoE.
Mention OS used: Windows 7/VIsta/XP Sp3

Thanks for quick reply 'essbebe'
Here are the details:
OS: Windows Vista.
WAN Protocol Setting: MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER)
(Attaching the image)
Modem Provided by Reliance: Billion ADSL2+ Modem/ Router with 1-connection!
Please give the correct model number of billion modem.
Same device info as in post No1 with Beetel 450BXI ? when connected.
Did you enable DHCP in either model ?
Did you enable Wireless Box in beetel 450 BXI ?

WA3002_g4 sig link : same for DNA A212 widfi model etc.
If same BER option available in it, try that.
Connect the rj45 to Lan 1 of Beetel Lan 2 to desktop
Presume you are now using Beetel 450BXI, by connecting the RJ11
cable.
After making each change you should post the result also.
Now I have to presume no wifi even when BER was selected in Beetel.

Model: BIPAC 5200S

The options my Beetel 450 BX1 supports are:
PPPoA, PPPoE, MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER), IPoA and Bridging.

If I understand it correct... by "Connect the rj45 to Lan 1 of Beetel Lan 2 to desktop", you mean I should 1st connect Reliance 1-port router...and its RJ45-out to Beetel's Lan-1?
YES. Beetel used more as a switch.
answer to specific queries also required..
Only with Beetel wifi router wifi appears to have worked .
( old threads ).

Back again as I got my second laptop back to try configuring + connecting wirelessly.
As you suggested, I tried following things to connect my both the laptops in wireless mode:
1) Connected RJ-11 to Reliance 1-Port modem
2) Connected RJ-45 from Reliance's only Port to LAN1 port of Beetel.
3) Connected RJ-45 from LAN2 port of Beetel to My Laptop-1.
4) On Laptop-1, changed the TCP/IP setting for LAN as shown in attached image.
IP-Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Preferred DNS server: 192.168.1.1
Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
-----------------------------
With Laptop-1:
A) I entered into modem page through 192.168.1.1
B) In Modem's Device Info page, its showing correctly following things:
Primary DNS Server: 192.168.1.1
Secondary DNS Server: 192.168.1.1
C) In Modem, I enabled 'Wireless' settings and provided 'Security keys'.
D) Then I removed LAN cable from my laptop and tried 'wireless connection'. It got connected.
E) Tried with google.com it diverted me to reliancebroadband.co.in.
F) Provided UName + Pwd, and started surfing net properly.

That's the story till y'night. Now as I got my second laptop(Laptop-2) back, I tried following settings to connect it to Secured Wireless network.
With Laptop-2:
1) I was able to connect successfully to Wireless Network with Laptop-2.
2) As I wasn't able to surf net, I opened 'Control Panel\Network Connections' and changed TCP/IP settings of 'Wireless Network connection' ditto as of wired LAN settings of Laptop-1 (as in attached image).
3) With Laptop-2, TCP/IP property's IP-Address: 192.168.1.2 tried surfing... got an Error saying "IP Address conflict".
4) Then I changed TCP/IP property of 'Wireless Network connection''IP-Address as: 192.168.1.3
5) Now tried again. Though I didn't get any error message, but wasn't able to surf net on Laptop-2!!!
Now what's next?
<Essebebe> Many thanks for your quick responses and sorry for replying late as I got my 2nd laptop today only!
Hi,
Configuration:
Beetel 450BX1 ADSL 2+ Router
Billion - Reliance ADSL 1-Port Router
2-laptops.
Somehow managed to connect both my laptops. But the problem now is...
1) With my 1st laptop, I logged in via reliancebroadband site page and can surf the net easily.
2) Now with second laptop, though I am able to connect to router in wireless mode, when I try to surf net... it diverts to reliancebroadband site. When I provide the login credentials... it says - "Your connection was terminated abruptly. First terminate previous connection!"
Bottomline is... at once, I can use only one laptop to surf net at given moment. To surf using another laptop... I have to 'log out' from the first one!!!
F1...F1...F1!
computer:
In Network setttings in both laptops
select TCP/IP obtain Ip address automatically.
DNS obtain automatically.
Modem/router :
Using ONLY Beetel 450BXI " select PPPoE " enter id/pw in wan page.
Enable DHCP give range 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.5
DNS obtain automatically.
TEST:
Try both laptops. Laptop 1 can be LAN mode and Laptop 2 in wifi mode. Feedback.
If ok remove lan cable FROM laptop 1 and try WIfi mode. in both laptops .
Why you should always log in Browser is the "SORE" point !When tried accessing google.com, I got Reliance Login page. I logged in.....
Feedback.
PARA TWO:
In my Windows 7 I can keep the LAN rj45 connected ( PPPoE mode Also there is a switch for wireless in Laptop..
Can choose Lan or wifi .
I've got this Ril BB connection with direct RJ -45 cable direct lan which connects to a crap router just for using the landline. so i've disconnected the router and directly using the connection with the Lan cable coming directly from the RIL DP [NOde].
Now, i have this BSNL BB Wi-Fi mode. the one shown in the pic on the first post/page, of this thread.
NOW IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN USE THAT MODEM WITH THIS CRAP CONNEXTION PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE(
I have read that technically the incoming LAN cable can go into one of the four LAN ports of the ADSL modem/router, and the other three ports and wifi should be able to share the internet. However I have no idea if that works in practice.
A regular broadband (non-ADSL) router should work out of the box, though.
How would that work can u elaborate.? PLEASE!
Hi,
I currently have a single user combo plan from reliance(wired connection) where in I logon from the reliance site using the id and pwd.
I would like to connect 2 laptops and a couple of smartphones (wireless) with this connection.
I do understand I would need a wi-fi router (which I am planning to buy: Belkin, or a Dlink)
As I did read a couple of posts but couldn't get a clear picture as to how this would work, since I have a combo plan (i.e a phone connected to the reliance box, hence can't afford to do away with the box)
So if anyone could guide me how to go about it without doing away with the reliance box and still be able to use the conn on multiple devices (laptop n phones)
@sonicc_th
Reliance has supplied you an Adsl modem?
Please give details. Make/model/number
Do you have to log in everytime you connect to Internet ?
you connect a Rj45 cable direct to your computer?
What is the speed of your BB plan ?
See whether any modem listed here ? see MP Bsnl web site. picture.
UTSTAR WA3002-G4 quick reference
Don't rush and buy a wifi router. Making it work with Reliance BB, doubtful.
Any other BB service available in your area ?
Mention the OS you use: Windows 7/vista/xp sp3 etc
cable goes in to the box (does not have any model no) from there I conn using a lan cable, now that box also helps me use the ph since it's a combo plan, although i can conn directly to my laptop with the cable but won't be able to use the ph then
Sorry. No hope. Mention OS you have.
Cable goes in to the box : The cable is
normal Telephone cable Rj11 with one pair of wires
or a thick 8 wire cable called RJ45.
Then should be a Rj45 cable confirm.i can conn directly to my laptop
i just want know that i have a bsnl nokia seimens 1600 wifi modem will these settings work for me on that modem for reliance connection

well these settings works for me on 2 different laptop i kept the dhcp enable.......
if u know how to provide different ip to your device than its ok else make sure that you enable dhcp and provide the necessary ip for eg first ip i 192.168.1.2 (remember that the 192.168.1.1 is the defualt ip of modem) and second ip is 192.168.1.254 in lan so that it itself provide ip's to the device of your system
@thread starter:
Thanks a lot bro... ur thread helped me a lot........ no way to praise you...
am flying in the air...
nice guide,very helpful.
Hi Glass,
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. By following your instructions, now my reliance connection is able to connect via LAN using BSNL A211-1 WIFI modem. However, unfortunately, I am not able to connect via WIFI. It is the same case with my Windows Phone 7.5 as well. The message is "Your phone could not connect, because ....there is no response from the network".
I would be really grateful, if you can guide me to resolve this issue.
Thank you in advance
