    Default Reliance Broadband Queries

    Hi all,

    I am from Yeshwantpur, Bangalore.

I have been using BSNL unlimited plan for the last 2 and a half years. Since I download a lot, the upper cap in their plans reduces the internet speed after a few days - this is an annoying experience. I heard that Reliance has no upper cap in their plans, and almost in every other thread people have told that is Reliance is a very bad ISP.

I would be thankful if you could kindly share your experience on the following aspects:
    - Will they provide (on request / payment) a wireless modem so that I can connect my laptop wihout any cable?
    - Does the actual downloading / uploading speed is as promised? (in Bangalore ... I know Reliance has problems in smaller cities.)
    - How much is the downtime? What is your experience regarding the downtime?
    - How long does the Customer care takes to respond?

Please refer to one of my previous threads here ... indiabroadband.net/bsnl-broadband/30685-suggest-me-isp-bangalore.html

Reliance is no better than any other ISP....services are not very stable throughout, but still some places , like metros have good services..

    customer care is above average.

Using wifi for laptop with Reliance modem seems not possible. Check out for a guide from member " Glass " how to share wifi using BSNL modem. In it he suggests to replace the Reliance modem with BSNL one. Since you already have BSNL modem it won't be an issue.

Here is the one I mentioned

Please confirm this, before paying any advance to any representative.

For Broadband connection via telephone line an adsl modem
(without wifi mode) may be given.
If you buy additional adslmodem+4lanport+WIFI router
( cost approx Rs 2500 to Rs 4000/=) also there could be problem.

If your BSNL modem/router is wifi type test with
    a friend's Landline Reliance connection

Subject being discussed in these forum/s
    Awaiting positive feedbacks.
