Default Reliance checking Browser User Agent string ?

So yesterday I wasn't able to login to my Reliance Broadband id. A call to customer care and they told me some nonsense about my Firefox being "corrupted, you must re-install it Sir" and then they INSISTED on walking me through login with Internet Explorer.

Guess what ? Login only works if your browser identifies as Internet Explorer.

(this is since Dec 2 2010)

Anybody know whats going on ?

hi..now regarding u'r problem there is no problen if u use any browser to login. Do foll things.
    1)install latest firefox version,i've used 3.x and now using 4.0 beta..i've even usev ie9,safari,opera 10.x,chrome..theres no problen..
2)try clearing the cache & history
3)try pressing enter rather than hitting login tab, illogical but helps me a lot.
4)if it says u'r session was terminated abruptly terminate it manuelly using u'r security question.

    Hope dat helps.

Its not new for reliance.....almost 3-4 months ago, i faced similar problem with Login. I used to enter Uname & Passwrd, it says session termination/some nonsense but won't allow me to Login.

I raised the problem with the CCare, but the way they treat us makes me feel pity, like we don't even know the basics of a computer/network and put us silly questions like Check u r LAN connection is connected or not and some nonsense, they even say that in our system shows that u r connected/Login and surfing, as if they using my PC...(In fact, its clear that the problem is from their Server itself) but u know, it always so hard to accept the reality.........for them....right....!!!!!

I don't know where you are located, but there have been issues with Reliance in Hyderabad on some of the days recently - network slowness, logging off etc.

I'm from Hyderabad, and the service from past 4-5 days was Horrible...- frequent network disconnection, log off......raised many complaints, in fact they themselves agreed that there's problem in the whole AP Network.....but they don't know that when it'll be resolved......Strange...??

    Yes, better from yesterday.

They said the outage was for India, AP, Dilsukhnagar, fruit market etc. etc. at different points of time.
