Question Anyone using Reliance Wireline BB in Kolkata?

    Hi,

Anyone using Reliance Wireline BB in Kolkata?
Please clarify the following queries of mine -
    1. Overall satisfaction level as end user
    2. Frequency of network outage / network down etc
    3. Reliance CC for Kolkata promptness?
    4. Any billing issue?
    5. For NightBooster Zoom plan, is the speed promised (1mbps at day and 2mbps at night) true in actual?
    6. Any Fair Usage policy and any site blocking?

I have been using BSNL BB of Home C+ but i am miserably failing to keep within 2.5GB.
Also, after using 2mbps its difficult to move back to 512kbps UL plan.
Airtel has FUP and my monthly upload + download is around 50-60Gb.

So it wont satisfy my requirement.

So Kolkata Reliance Wireline BB users, please help!

I'm using Reliance Wire-line Broadband since May 2010. I switched from BSNL Home Combo Plus to Reliancle Night Booster Zoom Plan.
    Cost: Rs 749
    Speed: 600kbps from 8AM-10PM & 1 mbps from 10PM-8AM

    Coming directly to your questions:

    1. Overall satisfaction level: I didn't face any issue neither in BSNL nor in Reliance.
    2. Frequency of network outage: Once for around 3-4 hours
    3. Reliance CC for Kolkata promptness: I only faced the issue once and that was solved quickly.
    4. Any billing issue: Till date, NO
    5. For NightBooster Zoom plan, is the speed promised (1mbps at day and 2mbps at night) true in actual?: YES, and we don't have to login after 10 PM also. The speed does change automatically.
    6. Any Fair Usage policy and any site blocking? Sometimes, some site can be blocked but the problem are automatically solved in a day. I had problems in accessing some torrent sites but that problem can be solved by using the Google DNS.

Note: The above are my personal experience which I faced during last 7 months. The speed is very good and the customer care response is OK

    Hi Rajeev,

Thanks for your reply! One more query - is there any way to configure / reuse my BSNL type II ADSL with Wifi modem with the reliance connection?
Do you have Wifi with reliance as I read somewhere Reliance doesn't give Wifi enable by default?

    Thanks!

I've no idea about the reusability of the Type II modem of BSNL in Reliance. I was using the Type I modem of BSNL.

It's true that Reliance don't provide the wi-fi modem.

    Default Only 1 user replied!!

Is it that not many users are using Reliance Wirenet BB in kolkata?

BSNL in Kolkata has now introduced FUP for UL plans!!!

    Airtel is already doing that!

Now where will the "IMPATIENT" ones go?

so i took the ace combo 1mbps plan and speeds are

    speedtest.net/result/1441305310.png
    i25.lulzimg.com/746c68.png

See How Linear the graph is without any fluctuations..... CONSTANT SPEED!!!

and cs 1.6 pings of all indian servers are below 40!!!.........suck it bsnl!

i am happy and satisfied with the connection as it was given on 5th day after being applied....

so stop fooling around and spreading rumours about how bad reliance is without actually using it yourself.
