Mention modem model/make/number, which Reliance has provided.
    (A)
    deleted..
    (B)
Windows7 wlancard can work as an Access point.
    Download "Connectify" application.
    (c)
Test with another laptop(2). whether wifi mode works .
    (d)
Desktop(XP) can also have a PCI WLAN card. (if (c) works

Based on your feedback, other members may give some other suggestion/s.

Reliance Broadband unlimited 749. The company itself provided the modem.

    Billion BiPAC 5200S RF+Switch :Compex PS2208B
cannot access it in both the lap and desktop at the same time......

If you can access modem settings menu pages:

    (a)
Go to Management and BACKUP present modem settings to
    say C:/My documents/billion modem working.
    (b)
    In WAN page edit
    Uncheck " bridged " and select PPP/PPPoE
enter your userId/PW in wan page.
In LAN page ( usually) enable DHCP
Give range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10

    Save Reboot.

Now system will connect to Internet in "Always On" mode.
    check both computers.
