Default Using Slingbox in India with Reliance

    Hello

I am planning on installing a Slingbox in India to watch TV over the internet in the States.

Basically you connect slingbox to the internet and set top box. You can watch it on your computer on the receving end.

Few things I am looking for
-Best upload speed and best price? (I saw reliance offereing 1 mbps for Rs 1099 ? with no cap). Better the upload speed, better the quality
    - Any one else using the slingbox setup? What internet service you use, modem/router, and UL speed?

As I have been living in the States for a while, I am not sure about the internet services in India.. They seem bit complicated.

    Any help will be appreciated.

Reliance uses a private portal to authenticate the connection. The subscriber must enter his username and password - only then he will be able to browse the internet.

If Slingbox allows such functions, then of course one can use it with their reliance broadband connection.

The only connection I can think of is Bsnl's dataone provided you are not too far away from the local Bsnl telephone exchange. They have some unlimited plans but I dont think any of their plans would give you anything better then 1mbps uplink and that is not enough for 1080p video but for SD it should do just fine.
There is Bsnl wimax as well in Punjab but I am not sure what the upload speed is but it cant be anything less then 750kbps which again is not good enough for a sling box.

Here is Bsnl wimax page : http://www.bsnl.co.in/service/wimax/...page.htm#promo

There dont say anything about the upload speed.
